The lodges come complete with TV/ Freeview / DVD Microwave / Oven / Hot plates / Kettle / Fridge / Freezer/toaster and sink with hot and cold water. There are plates, side plates, mugs and bowls plus cutlery for 4 people. The kitchen area has a dining table with two chairs. There is outdoor furniture on the decking/veranda area too.

The lodges are fully double glazed and insulated and fitted with radiators. Tea, Coffee, Milk, Sugar and Biscuits are provided in your own lodge and there is a communal BBQ area with a fire pit built into the ground.

All lodge guests will get 1 hour use of the large 6 person hot tub per day, which is located in its own lodge. You will have the hot tub to yourselves and no other guest will be in at the same time. Please let us know on the day of your arrival what time you would like the hot tub from. More time is available at no extra cost however you can check that upon arrival.

Glamping in the East Midlands offers visitors a whole range of fun activities and family days out in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas. "Blood on sheets and dirty floors"

H Holmes - Stayed with partner, Aug 2021

I emailed the park to complain but I have not received a response. The shower head holder was broken, the light in our room didn’t work, the floors were dirty, and there was dried blood stains on our bedding!

We are a national, Christian motorcycle club with an average of members being in our 60's (and therefore unlikely to be a rowdy group). This was made clear to the campsite when we first made enquiries and they were happy to accept our bookings, although insisted everyone had to book individually. When our members rang to make bookings, the site were unaware of us! When contacted to ask about facilities, etc, they told us that groups were not welcome - although several groups were seen on site while we were there with cars corralled around tents well under the HSE spacing to keep campers safe from fire. We were then told that bbq's were not allowed, especially for groups - the site sells disposable bbq's, and provides a communal area within the wooden cabins. The entry to the site was covered with loose Type One gravel which had not been rolled in and was treacherous for two wheeled vehicles and the majority of cars were grounding on the piles of gravel dug in the exit (and the entry onto the Public Highway was tarmac covered with loose gravel as well). In our relatively new cabin, three of the light bulbs were blown and although reported, no attempt was made to either repair or even offer us spare bulbs. The web site carried two different price lists and also the photos did not show how steep the slope was (and neither was that mentioned to anyone ringing up - we found out this on a pre site inspection by one of our members). Our group stayed in a mixture of on-site cabins, caravans and tents and were not allowed to be together on site. The access was terrible and we most certainly won't be staying there again. People from the other groups on site were surprised that we were given so many restrictions! We were not even allowed to hold a short service on the Sunday morning because we were told to clear off the site by 11.

However, as we were onsite as part of a motorcycle club weekend the loose, and in places comparatively deep, gravel from the gate to the site entry point was not great. Where cars and caravans had driven over the gravel it was partly compacted but in other places, most notably where we were directed to park for the lodges, it was both loose and deep. Neither of these are good when riding a motorcycle, particularly at a place that advertises as being motorcycle friendly. My wife and I stayed in one of the on-site lodges. While the lodge is neat and comfortable £90 per night seems like a lot for a room only self-catering facility with no wardrobe or even hangers to facilitate using the hooks on one wall.

Disappointed with overall experience of site , our ‘premium lodge’ was situated over looking the carpark with a large electrical generator bearing down on us. With a busy road behind us it was not the idyllic spot we had hoped for. The accommodation was fine and as expected. On arrival we were met by a rather sullen teenage host who seemed to be the only front facing member of staff. We found him to be not very communicative throughout our weeks stay and always looked a bit annoyed if you asked a question. He clearly was not too bothered about CustomerService ratings. We booked the site as it was conveniently placed for all families to meet up and it’s proximity to the Peak District, we were also attracted to the hot tubs. However very disappointed to be told 12 hrs before our arrival we needed to pay extra to use the tubs which we were led to believe would be free with our package. On arrival we were given no information about using the tubs by sullen teenager, but was informed the next day by someone else that we could use the tubs for 3 out of our 5 day stay, (the previous night included) Sadly one day had gone as our host with the most failed to mention this. The tub was great for our first dip however on the next attempt it was cold and took several hours to warm up slightly making it not as much fun, when we asked about this our sullen teenager shrugged his shoulders and said it will warm up. Generally the camp was okay, the customer service could be hugely improved and hot tubs were very disappointing.

We enjoyed our 2 night summer break. First impressions were good, the grounds and lodge were clean. The lodge wasn't in the greatest condition looks to have suffered flood damage but this did not affect our stay. The hot tub was a nice feature and accessible and private. There isn't much to do on site and within walking distance but we knew this when booking and for a short stay wasn't an issue. We were happy all round and had a pleasent stay.

We found the lodges to be great. Really enjoyed the hot tub. Location is good for local site seeing. Comfortable bed. Ample size bathroom. Stocked with what you need in kitchen. Will definitely visit again.

"Feedback"

D Arnold - Stayed with partner, Jun 2021

Generally a very good stay but there were a couple of faults with the lodge such as a dirty quilt, a damaged cupboard in the kitchen and bathroom and a broken light.
