Riddings Wood holiday park is set in 11 acres of woodland in the tranquil and idyllic Derbyshire countryside offering a quiet and relaxing East Midlands Glampsite retreat.

Just a short distance from the Peak District, our park is the perfect location for enjoying walking, climbing, cycling, bird watching and fishing holidays. Riddings Wood offers the best of both worlds, being peacefully located in the countryside but with quick and easy access from the park to Derby, Nottingham and Mansfield.

Our Glamping lodges in the Peak District are 18.36 sq metres and sleep up to 4 people, in a double bed and a double sized sofa bed. Our lodges are called Chestnut, Silver Birch, Holly, Pine, Hawthorn and Oak. Oak is our pet friendly lodge.

The lodges come complete with TV/ Freeview / DVD/ Microwave Oven / Hot plates / Kettle / Fridge / Freezer/toaster and sink with hot and cold water. There are plates, side plates, mugs and bowls plus cutlery for 4 people. The kitchen area has a dining table with four stools. Each room has a fixed double bed and a pull-out double bed sized sofa bed. Bedding (double bed sets) and towels - one bath and hand towel per person is provided. There is a bathroom with toilet, hand basin, shower and a mirror with a shaver point. There is outdoor furniture on the decking/veranda area too.

The lodges are fully double glazed and insulated and fitted with radiators. Tea, Coffee, Milk, Sugar and Biscuits are provided in your own lodge and there is a communal BBQ area with a fire pit and four large griddles.

In addition, all the lodges have their own, private hot tub, in it's own, covered over outbuilding on the side of each lodge. This is included in the price and is for your exclusive use for the duration of your stay.

Glamping in the East Midlands offers visitors a whole range of fun activities and family days out in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas. From cycling and walking in the Peak District to visiting historical attractions such as Chatsworth House or sampling the local food and drink on offer in one of the area’s many tea rooms, family pubs and restaurants, we are sure you will enjoy your glamping stay with us in Derbyshire.

I truly have no criticisms.Me and my husband both have busy lives, and we decided to visit riddings wood to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and it was every we wanted.Steve was very polite and the cleanliness was perfect! We loved sitting in the hot tub, dark outside but having the hot tub lights on, listening to the rain on the roof!! Not seen my husband so relaxed in a very long time.We certainly will be coming back!

Stayed at Riddings in March ..cabin was basic but had all you needed to cater for yourself. Everything was clean. tidy and comfortable.there was ample tea coffee .sugar and milk.a communal bbq area( which we didn't use due to the month we went)..the jacuzzi was kept clean and was private .the site its self had other luxury cabins .areas for camping and caravan trailers. The village had 2 pubs The thatch which was closed and the 7 stars which was lovely .they didn't do dinners because of the in and around the village were lovely so friendly..we walked around Codnor reservoir .it looked lovely with the different birds on it and also stopped for a coffee at the mobile cafe..(the breakfast there looked great) we enjoyed every minute here and will be back.

Lovely little hideaway

Iv been a few times now I like the place, irs friendly and the cabin is clean and ready for you if its cold outside the heating has been put on ready so you walk into a hot cabin perfect .... the woods are a nice walk and your not to far away from local places to go and have a nice meal out but there is also a little kitchen in the cabin so you can just escape the outside world and stay in.... overall we love the stay the hot tub is always clean and ready to use and has a light so you can sit in it at night its lovely and relaxing. Only one thing I would like them to change is the booking out time its much to early as we sometimes stay just one night you get there at 3pm to book in nice relax but then have to set alarms for 8.30 and 9 in the morning as you have to be out by 10am if this was moved to 11.30 it would make the next morning perfect so you had time for breakfast and a nice coffee before setting off then I would definitely give a 5 star. Overall its a perfect getaway.

Wasn’t overly impressed

Smedley, Ellie - 01/02/2024

The shower door slid all the way across so I could stick my arm out while inside. The shower door handle was also broken and spun all the way around as it wasn’t connected. The nightlights in our room didn’t work either, when I told the employee at reception he said theyd just got the parts to fix them and that the lodges had previously been trashed. I understand this but I think it’s very unfair that as a cooperating customer I’ve paid full price for a lodge that wasn’t up to standard like the others or as it should’ve been. After sending an email to discuss this I received no response after almost a week which I again think is poor.

Very relaxing weekend

We stayed here recently with our 2 children (5y and 6m) and was pleasantly surprised that we could still fit a travel cot with the sofa bed folded out and we could still move around the lodge. Everything you need is provided such as washing up liquid, toilet roll, towels, bedding etc. It was not the cleanest place I've stayed however it was clean enough and the kitchen, table, beds and hot tub were spotless and very well looked after. The only thing that let it down was the shower that was freezing cold, this could well have been a one off and we didn't bother reporting as we were only there 2 nights so probably would have been looked at by the staff. Absolutely would stay here again and already recommended to family and friends!
