Riddings Wood is an eco-friendly Caravan and Camping park set in 11 acres of woodland in the tranquil and idyllic Derbyshire countryside offering a quiet and relaxing East Midlands Glampsite retreat.

Just a short distance from the Peak District, our park is the perfect location for enjoying walking, climbing, cycling, bird watching and fishing holidays. Riddings Wood offers the best of both worlds, being peacefully located in the countryside but with quick and easy access from the park to Derby, Nottingham and Mansfield.

Our new Glamping lodges in the Peak District are 18.36 sq metres and sleep up to 4 people, in a double bed and a double sized sofa bed. Our lodges are called Chestnut, Silver Birch, Holly, Pine, Hawthorn and Oak. Oak is our pet friendly lodge.

The lodges come complete with TV/ Freeview / DVD Microwave / Oven / Hot plates / Kettle / Fridge / Freezer/toaster and sink with hot and cold water. There are plates, side plates, mugs and bowls plus cutlery for 4 people. The kitchen area has a dining table with two chairs. Each room with either a fixed double bed or double bed sized sofa bed has bed time reading lights and mood lighting. Bedding (double bed sets) and towels - one bath and hand towel per person is provided. There is a bathroom with toilet, hand basin, shower and a light up mirror with a shaver point. There is outdoor furniture on the decking/veranda area too.

The lodges are fully double glazed and insulated and fitted with radiators. Tea, Coffee, Milk, Sugar and Biscuits are provided in your own lodge and there is a communal BBQ area with a fire pit built into the ground.

All lodge guests will get 1 hour use of the large 6 person hot tub per day, which is located in its own lodge. You will have the hot tub to yourselves and no other guest will be in at the same time. Please let us know on the day of your arrival what time you would like the hot tub from. More time is available at no extra cost however you can check that upon arrival.

Glamping in the East Midlands offers visitors a whole range of fun activities and family days out in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas. From cycling and walking in the Peak District to visiting historical attractions such as Chatsworth House or sampling the local food and drink on offer in one of the area’s many tea rooms, family pubs and restaurants, we are sure you will enjoy your glamping stay with us in Derbyshire.

Miss A Dalton - Stayed with friends, Aug 2019

The hot tub was an amazing bonus, kids and us mums loved it. The surrounding area was lovely and quiet and enjoyed the fact it was separate to the camping area. Need to improve our fire making skills!! Thanks for a lovely stay

We had a great time glamping, though I felt sorry for others there as there was only a small area for all to BBQ and we seemed to take it over as we were a large group. More bbq areas needed 1 per 3 huts max (or at least increase the seating). Spa facilities were great but could be a little little cleaner (dead bugs and debris) - not bad enough to stop you using. There needs to be a gate to the car park to prevent little ones wondering off. Also the construction work was not really bothering us until the last day as it was away from the huts but then they started dumping great mounds of soil near the huts, no barriers to prevent the kids wondering into the area and really ruined the last few hours of our stay. You should pre-warn people that there was construction going on. Over all the huts were really cosy and well equipped, exceptionally clean too. Firewood cost was extremely high, the wheelbarrows were half full at best. I would say that the bed sheets also need to be replaced they are showing their age, one set was very grey and bubbly - kids didn’t complain! I know there are mostly negative points but we did have a lovely time.

The communal BBQ and fire pit were great and we all thoroughly enjoyed use of the hot tub. The only setback was that our kitchen sink had no hot water, but I only had to boil the kettle to do the dishes so it wasn't too much of a hardship. Ensuite facilities were great, all beautifully presented. We had a great time, very laid back atmosphere, will definitely return.

Whilst we loved the lodges and they were very clean the bedding and sofa bed were stained which was a shame and a bit off-putting!
