Riddings Wood is an eco-friendly Caravan and Camping park set in 11 acres of woodland in the tranquil and idyllic Derbyshire countryside offering a quiet and relaxing East Midlands Glampsite retreat.

Just a short distance from the Peak District, our park is the perfect location for enjoying walking, climbing, cycling, bird watching and fishing holidays. Riddings Wood offers the best of both worlds, being peacefully located in the countryside but with quick and easy access from the park to Derby, Nottingham and Mansfield.

Our new Glamping lodges in the Peak District are 18.36 sq metres and sleep up to 4 people, in a double bed and a double sized sofa bed. Our lodges are called Chestnut, Silver Birch, Holly, Pine, Hawthorn and Oak. Oak is our pet friendly lodge.

The lodges come complete with TV/ Freeview / DVD Microwave / Oven / Hot plates / Kettle / Fridge / Freezer/toaster and sink with hot and cold water. There are plates, side plates, mugs and bowls plus cutlery for 4 people. The kitchen area has a dining table with two chairs. Each room with either a fixed double bed or double bed sized sofa bed has bed time reading lights and mood lighting. Bedding (double bed sets) and towels - one bath and hand towel per person is provided. There is a bathroom with toilet, hand basin, shower and a light up mirror with a shaver point. There is outdoor furniture on the decking/veranda area too.

The lodges are fully double glazed and insulated and fitted with radiators. Tea, Coffee, Milk, Sugar and Biscuits are provided in your own lodge and there is a communal BBQ area with a fire pit built into the ground.

All lodge guests will get 1 hour use of the large 6 person hot tub per day, which is located in its own lodge. You will have the hot tub to yourselves and no other guest will be in at the same time. Please let us know on the day of your arrival what time you would like the hot tub from. More time is available at no extra cost however you can check that upon arrival.

Glamping in the East Midlands offers visitors a whole range of fun activities and family days out in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas. From cycling and walking in the Peak District to visiting historical attractions such as Chatsworth House or sampling the local food and drink on offer in one of the area’s many tea rooms, family pubs and restaurants, we are sure you will enjoy your glamping stay with us in Derbyshire.

"Great location for walking"

Mrs D Jones - Stayed with partner, Oct 2020

Chose Riddings Wood Holiday Park for its location to local walks with the dog, didn't disappoint. Lots of beautiful locations within a half hour drive. Everything was as described and the lodge was small but comfortable.

"Anniversary"

Mrs L Biggin - Stayed with partner, Oct 2020

Stayed here a few times before mainly because of the use of hot tub. Unfortunately it wasnt working very well, neither was it last year. Kitchen in lodge needs a bit of TLC.

Got a email to say the hot tub jets were not working but we could still use it as was still hot. I’m not one to complain so just thought we would make the most of it. However, when it was out turn to use it,the room with the shower and for you to change was out of order and the actual door to the hot tub room was broken so could not be shut. We still made the most of it. Once we had a lit a fire and sat outside for a bit we decided to call it a night. Once we got in bed we realised how bad the mattress was with springs sticking out. It was impossible to get comfortable, as we were only 30 minutes away from home we decided to pack up and leave instead of having a sleepless night. I did email when we got home. It was a really nice email to be fair, not even a complaint! Just to say what let it down and maybe they could improve, I haven’t had a reply yet, just this email asking for my review. Not a lot in the surrounding area that was in walking distance. We walked to a Pub for food that was closed. We walked back to get the car and drove into Alfreton to find somewhere to eat, most places closed down. We would return again if the problems we faced were sorted out.

"Lovely little lodges"

Miss B Wheatley - Stayed with family, Sep 2020

Booked for a couple of nights away with my sister and Dad. Was a lovely little lodge and easy to get to. Easy check in due to covid. Lovely surroundings and plenty of things to do around the area. Facilities in the lodge were simple but enough for a couple of days.... Booked for a couple of nights away with my sister and Dad. Was a lovely little lodge and easy to get to. Lodge was clean, bathroom facilities were good.Site was well kept and quiet. We visited Matlock Bath and Chatsworth House, both a short drive away. We brought our disposable barbecue and used it in the allocated area which was great. All in all a quiet cosy stay. Only negative (and if you don’t want to prepare food, ignore this), there was a combi oven, microwave and grill in the kitchen area but no dishes we could use in it. The crockery provided had a metallic decoration on, and other than that there were 2 small saucepans and a frying pan. Would stay again and bring my own dish !!
