It had been fogged prior to our arrival so I felt confident that everything had been streakiest and cleaned! Our daughter was sick on the path as soon as we arrived, I told a member of staff who promptly cleaned it up! We loved that the park was small in size and the toilet blocks were clean, tidy and regularly fogged throughout the day! We went to the restaurant which was clean and the food was typical pub oven food but was lovely as it’s right outside the park so the kids could play! Down the road from the site was fresh veg and fruit stalls and the strawberries were delicious!

We loved the location of the holiday park, the views were beautiful and it’s very handy for exploring all the many attractions near by. The staff were all super friendly and we ate twice in The Lodge, which was reasonably priced and everything we had was cooked to a good standard. The toilets and washing facilities were absolutely fine. The cabin itself was a good size, well set up and pretty comfortable. Our only criticism is of the crockery and cooking facilities. The camping stove was absolutely filthy as was the cutlery and crockery. Even after a good wash all the enamel was peeling away from the plates and bowls. If all of this could be replaced, we wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it.

"Nice but needs a few improvements"

The main toilet and shower blocks were ok but water flooded from the shower into the changing area making it difficult to get dressed and not get wet again from the floor. The smaller toilet block was covered in cobwebs and spiders and needed a repaint. The cabin we stayed in was spacious enough but everything was covered in cob webs. Some of the equipment provided was damaged and faulty. There was muck under the beds, the blinds were dusty and the windows hadn't even washed in goodness knows how long. The staff did clean up a bit but not enough.

"First stay at buckelgrove"

Cosy cabin was dirty. Dirty mirror with splashes all over. Dirty cutlery. Dirty microwave. Cobweb with spider in cabin. The picture on website doesn't look the same. Cobweb with spider in cabin. The picture on website doesn't look the same. We thought the cabin was on flat ground so kids could play ball outside but couldn't as it's on a hill next to road. This needs to be stated on the website. Swimming pool and facilities need an upgrade. Swimming pool water looked dirty in small pool. Grass needed cutting around cabin. When it was cut it was only strimmed and left. We felt disappointed with this park when you compare it to the pictures on the website. The play park doesn't have a fence around it and its next to a road which I didn't like. We found the whole holiday park ok but wont be returning. Outside of cabin needs repainting.

Camping Cabin was clean and spacious enough for our needs (3 adults, 1 child and a dog). Certainly a step up from our normal tent. Site went very quiet at night, although it was starting to get very busy when we left. Shower and toilet blocks very clean, but only 5 showers across the two blocks for women. We saw the facilities being cleaned at lunch time, but by late evening a lot of toilet cubicles had run out of paper, so had to remember to take our own. Very small indoor pool which is not supervised. Under 16s are meant to be accompanied by an adult, but a lot of older children were allowed to go on their own and there were no staff around to enforce the rules (no jumping, running etc), which made the pool a bit hazardous to other users at times. Overall, I would recommend the site as we had a very pleasant stay.

We stayed in a cabin, good size for small families, which comes with everything you’d need for a little holiday! (Excludes blankets and towels) Situated next to the cute dinosaur walk which we took to get to the washing up station, toilets and showers. Short walk to the pool, mostly empty during school term times, really nice, we were in there every day (sometimes twice). The children’s play area has very little to do in it. But it’s okay. The restaurant was closed during our stay as it was a quiet time so we can’t comment on that. The shop carries most of the necessities if you’re in a pinch. Staff were very nice and welcoming.
