Dixie is a repurposed horse lorry with lots of character and surprises hidden on her many levels. Set within its own half acre wildflower meadow with perfect views of the thriving and constantly evolving wildlife.
Set to one side of the lorry is a large luxury walk-in shower room. The space also plays host to the well maintained composting loo. The sink is crafted from a well worked slab of yew, acting as the table top for the stone sink held up with twisted ivy lengths. Set to the other side of the lorry is the large firepit complete with generous seating arrangement, ambient lighting complete with BBQ tools and a purpose made griddle for the tractor rim fire pit.
Leading up to the lorry is a wide climb of steps to enter on to the first floor deck. This large decking area is ideal for spilling out from. Be it sharing a meal with others or simply lying back into a canvas deck chair and taking in all the space has to offer you senses. Another climb of steps takes you up to the top floor decking area. Towering four meters, above the surrounding landscape this deck is the perfect viewing platform to observe the site wildlife. Boasting a tin roof carefully designed to be placed to add maximum privacy. With subtle evening lighting the warmth from the inside bleeds through the stained glass on the secret hobbit door.
The inside space whilst off-grid, offers many home comforts that you might not expect. A large Belfast sink, housed in locally sourced milled and worked wood, provides warm suds for washing up. Whilst in the kitchen the fridge / freezer and four hob grill / oven makes for a well-stocked space for cooking. The inside dining option, provided by another hand crafted and worked yew slabt. Set to the rear of the lorry is a large sofa bed providing a comfortable and sociable space.
As the nights draw in and the weather turns cooler the wood burner adds instant comfort to the living space. Whilst the weather might keep you from sitting around the firepit it won’t keep you indoors. Our top deck is also covered from the weathers worst elements via a pig arc shelter roof. To keep yourself dry you can also access this top deck from the internal steps and through the hobbit door.
Retirement to the king size top bed is accessed via the oak library ladder. With many lighting options controlled by the switch panel right of the internal climb to the hobbit door with conveniently placed USB sockets throughout.
