Our brand new camping pods are timber built and insulated, taking away the stress of packing and unpacking a tent. The family pods can comfortably sleep 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults (dimensions 2.7m x 4.4m). They have double glazed doors and window, electricity and a wall heater.
The pods are completely empty so you will need to bring camping gear, minus the tent. However, there is a picnic bench outside the pod.
Situated in the heart of Wasdale, arguably Cumbria’s most majestic valley, Church Stile Holiday Park and Campsite offers visitors the most spectacular location from which to explore and enjoy the Lake District.
Nestling in an idyllic oak woodland setting on a traditional Lakeland sheep farm, the area is a haven for wildlife with stunning views to the mountains. Yet the pretty village of Nether Wasdale with its 2 wonderful country inns serving hearty meals and fine ales, is only a two minute stroll away.
Wasdale is home to England’s deepest lake, highest mountain and smallest church and yet the wonderful beaches on Cumbria’s coastline are only a few miles distant. Whether you wish to simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt valley or take advantage of the many opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling and kayaking or visit some of West Cumbria’s many attractions, Church Stile is your perfect location.
Things To Do while glamping in Wasdale in the Lake District
Wasdale is one of the big mountain valleys of the Lake District with the stunning scenery making a wonderful backdrop for your glamping holiday. The valley is home to England’s highest mountain (Scafell Pike), deepest lake (Wastwater) and smallest church (St Olaf’s). Church Stile lies at the heart of the valley in the pretty village of Nether Wasdale making it the ideal base for your holiday.
Wasdale offers wonderful walks both on the high fells and valley bottom. Wasdale head is nearby leading to Scafell Pike (977 m) and Great Gable (899 m) while others such as Yewbarrow and Kirk Fell are also easily reached.
Lying just 1 mile from Church Stile, Wastwater Lake, England’s deepest lake allows kayaks, canoes and rowing boats. There are numerous places to picnic or swim. The view across the lake was voted ‘Britain’s Best View’ in 2009.

I stayed in a camping pod , I have in stayed in these before at other campsites , but they had facilities such as a microwave , fridge and kettle . Maybe Church stile should consider providing such things as it makes the stay much better . Expensive for the facilities... This was our 3rd visit to the site and will definitely be back, the location is beautiful. Amazing walks on the doorstep, good site shop, great pub in the village and lovely farmshop/cafe near by. The site facilitates are very clean and we always enjoy the wooded walk.

Campsite is in a lovely location near Wastwater with a lovely pub and café nearby. There are walks from the campsite and the scenery is incredible. However, it was hard to relax as the campsite was so noisy with children screaming from around 5pm. Children running in and out of toilets playing hide and seek. However, it was always quiet after 11pm as requested. There are not enough facilities for such a busy campsite which meant that the toilet block felt unclean even soon after they had been cleaned and my partner said that the smell in the men's was constantly disgusting. The washing up area was good and had multiple sinks and the shoe rack in the laundry room to dry boots was a nice touch. The pod itself wasn't as clean as we would have liked on arrival it needed sweeping, the curtains need washing and the windows need cleaning. We did like the amount of plug sockets available though. Overall, we didn't feel this campsite was suitable for those without children.

Excellent setting, very scenic site with good facilities. Close proximity to Waswater(short walk). Kids seemed to enjoy the play park. The shop was well stocked. Overall, an excellent place for a week break in the lakes.

Great stay, shame about the weather :-(. Pods could do with a larger veranda, so you could site outside in the bad weather. Other than that it was great, plenty of electrical points etc. Shop had everything you needed.
