Castle Pod with Hot Tub (Pet Friendly)

Great set up in the castle pods for our dog. The pod was lovely.

We have stayed at Herding Hill with a motorhome twice before, but wanted to treat ourselves to a little touch of luxury in the Castle Pods. We loved our 4 nights here, the pod has its own private jacuzzi, BBQ and outside seating area, all with wonderful views of the... We have stayed at Herding Hill with a motorhome twice before, but wanted to treat ourselves to a little touch of luxury in the Castle Pods. We loved our 4 nights here, the pod has its own private jacuzzi, BBQ and outside seating area, all with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Two of the Pods allow dogs to stay, so our dog joined us too. There is a great dog walking field at the top of the site, for those early morning/late evening strolls. The Pod was wonderfully equipped, with a very comfortable bed and on one clear night, we sat dark sky star gazing, what a view. The staff were very friendly and helped with any query or question we had. Its is within walking distance of the Roman Wall and many other Roman ruins and museums, just perfect. There are a number of local pubs within a short driving distance, all serving great food and local beers. This is a firm favourite and we won't hesitate going back.

Every where was very clean, site was quiet. I thought the layout of the castle pods could of been better . The 2 dog friendly pods had a restricted view of the valley due to other pods in front. Overall a great site and base for seeing Hadrians Wall. I would go again... Every where was very clean, site was quiet. I thought the layout of the castle pods could of been better . Staff were excellent, friendly and polite. We stayed in the castle pod and it was beautiful and so peaceful, only the sounds of nature. Very clean and facilities were excellent.

Herding Hill Farm is everything you want and need. Accommodation was immaculate and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The site was peaceful and well set out. The shop was well stocked. All the wardens on-site were very friendly and helpful. It was lovely seeing all the animals on-site as well as being... Accommodation was immaculate and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was lovely seeing all the animals on-site as well as being surrounded by fields of sheep. The area was beautiful. Sycamore Gap was only a few minutes drive away. If you do the walk be warned it is very steep in places. The views though are fantastic and more then make up for all the hard work in getting there. Haltwhistle is a pretty town and has everything you need. We went to Kielder Forest and Water which was about an hours drive away. Well worth it though. Overall we were very impressed with the site and can’t wait to go back.
