Description

Glamping Pod at Deers Glade, Warm and cosy glamping pods set in an idyllic Norfolk woodland.

Our Glamping pods are hidden in the woods, and allow the freedom of camping in the countryside but with more protection from the elements. You will still need to bring all your camping equipment except your tent! The Camping Pods and Mega Pods have the use of the Shower Pod situated between the two types of Pods. This has two shower rooms for Glamping Pods and Mega Pods users only.

The Standard Pods sleep up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children. Bring all your usual camping gear (except, of course, your tent) and furnish your Pod in your own unique style for your stay.

Strictly no groups of people under 25 years old and No Pets allowed in the Pods.

Deer's Glade Caravan and Camping Park is an exciting David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award winning caravan site in Norfolk. It is a quiet, dog-friendly, family-run caravan park and campsite set in a beautiful woodland clearing in North Norfolk

We've been going for 3 consecutives years now and we booked again for next year. Owners were very helpful, especially when the heater broke. He fixed it late st night. Very much appreciated thank you!  We explored the local farms, and villages which weren't too far to go at all.  Pod we stayed in was very cosy and warm, and also felt secure at night.  Really liked the fact that we were in the woods. The shared shower rooms were immaculate and always clean. Thanks again! We will see you again next year. Mrs. Wilson

Previously we have camped for 2-3 nights, but this time we tried out one of the basic pods. We had to take our own sleeping equipment, but there was electricity in the pod so took a kettle rather than the gas cooker. There are two shower/toilet pods for use by the pods only which saved a walk across to the main block. Also a chimnea and seating area for outside use. On the Friday evening we tried out the Pizza van - really nice woodfired handmade pizzas. Luckily we were there early, otherwise there is a bit of a wait - but definitely worth it for the taste of the food. We shall be back again.

"We left early"

Mrs Lakin - Stayed with family, Jul 2017

We left early as the pod area stank of drains and bathrooms were damp and stinking. Very overgrown.

However we didnt feel the toilet and shower facilities for the pods were sufficient for the number of pods there. There was a lot of condensation in the blocks, and not really enough hooks or area to put clothes etc. Plus it didnt look like they were serviced regularly enough as they ran out of paper towels which were not refilled after several days. We started using the other block, but there too there was a broken toilet seat in the ladies, plus one of the hand basin cubicles was out of action, and a broken cistern in the gents which was not fixed during our stay and looked like it had been broken for some time. On our last night there was an influx of families who were friends with a lot of kids. The kids were left to run amok around the wooded area creating a lot of noise especially when using their scooters to go up and down the wooden walk way. We are used to holidaying during the summer when Kids break up so expect some noise. This however was another level. We couldnt find a warden to discuss the situation with them. Our mobiles didnt have signal so we couldnt phone the warden, and there was no other way of getting hold of them. We suggested the next morning that scooters along there should be banned and respect of other campers be requested by signage (the site does after all advertise itself as a quiet site). The gentleman we discussed this with in the AM did seem to take this on board however the lady at reception just shrugged and said it was to be expected at this time of year, we didnt feel our comments were taken seriously, and as mentioned we felt this case was extreme. This left us with a very negative feeling about the holiday at the end.

"Deer glade glamping - an enjoyable stay in a pod"

A picturesque setting within a woody area near to a quiet fishing lake, Our 'pod' provided a good base throughout the day. It was clean, had t.v, heater and plug sockets. We loved the secluded area outside the pod for our personal use - which included a chimniere, bbq plinth and picnic bench. The campsite was generally clean and quiet. The shower and toilet facilities were adequate, however floors were wet, which could pose problems when getting dressed. We did visit at a busy time (summer holidays), therefore often had to either wait or walk a bit further to use toilets/showers. The play area was clean and catered for differing age groups - the children enjoyed it. The camp shop had the essentials and sold firewood for the chimniere, but not kindling - this would have been helpful as notices around the site request that this is not collected from the woody areas. We enjoyed the pizza from the van on the Friday evening and this made a refreshing break from having to bbq. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely like to return to this campsite in the future!

We enjoyed our stay however the toilet/shower pods were not good. The locking system often wouldn't work so you couldn't get in , you couldn't tell if they were occupied and having toilets and showers in the same pod meant they were often full and the floor was always wet and dirty. We had to use the campsite toilets on several occasions and of the 4 ladies toilets 3 were blocked ! Also the office shut at 5 and didn't open til 9 in the morning. Lots of other campsites stay open til 7 and open at 8 in the morning.
