Tired and in need of TLC but very convenient location for us

Di Martino, Sophia - 25/02/2025

The location was very handy for us - near to family. Staff were also very helpful. The cabin itself was tired and needed a bit of TLC. The toaster looked very old and dirty and the kettle was covered in limescale. All the knives were blunt and there was no sponge to wash up with. When we pulled the living room blinds down, one was broken and they were all very dusty. There were also no black out curtains in the top bedroom (only blinds) so the light woke the kids up super early. The sofa bed was too uncomfortable to sleep on and there were a lot of crumbs under the cushions! I also requested for single beds in the lodge but it was a double. We considered the hot tub but it looked pretty cloudy and not super clean so opted out! They'd all be relatively simple things to update and would make a big difference.I think overall, it's expensive for what it is but it was very convenient for us.

Lovely little lodge 🥰

Great short stay with my family, would recommend however our heating did go off and wouldn’t come back on so just used the fire. Didn’t affect us hugely & could have been resolved but only having a short stay we just used the fire, immaculately clean. :)

Great little lodge and hot tub!

Bull, Kelly - 08/11/2024

We had a lovely little stay, celebrating my birthday weekend. Check in was easy, friendly and fast. You just need to make sure you have funds for a £150 deposit, which gets refunded a few days later. Positives were, the lodge was nicely decorated which can accommodate easily up to 6 people. We had three people staying in total. The hot tub was one of the best I’ve had. Stayed hot for hours and we utilised this facility well. The location wasn’t too far from home, about a 30 minute drive. We didn’t venture into the surrounding village though. Just stayed here mainly for the use of the tub.Negatives, there’s no WiFi in the lodges, which to be fair wasn’t a major issue, but still a necessity these days. The cooker, we couldn’t find the switch to turn it on, so was unable to use that facility. The cooker lights, again, we couldn’t find how to turn these off at night as they were really bright. Overall we had a lovely stay and will recommend to others.

A fabulous Getaway

Mason, Kerry - 03/11/2024

Such a peaceful place. The cabin is lovely. Have stayed 3 times now. Love the hot tub and there is plenty of space to relax in the premier lodges. Was just missing the table umbrella outside this year, as it was a nice shelter from the rain when you want to sit outside. Other than that it was a fabulous stay, relaxing and clean.

Worst stay

Taylor, Emma - 03/11/2024

We made a complaint about our luxury lodge, this was anything but luxury. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in you can’t call them beds the dining room you are sleeping on a table and the lounge is a z bed that is uneven and a very thin mattress. We complained and was told to put it in writing we did this to have no response. This was part of our honeymoon and it was an absolute disaster. There wasn’t enough cutlery, the decking was a death trap, the plates were wet and dirty. The whole stay was terrible and the owners couldn’t care less they had our £400 and have no interest in our comfort or stay. These lodges are not lucuary and not worth the money. Avoid!

Lovely cabin but location not ideal

Le Deaut-Griffin, Aimee - 03/11/2024

The cabin is absolutely lovely, they make really good use of space and are decorated well. The hot tubs are also great although I’d prefer them in front of the doors so they can be used once the kids are in bed.The staff were really friendly and helpful, helping by getting us a heater to warm up the cabin a bit more for the kids whilst the cabin heating kicked up. The chap also came to tidy up the decking which was a bit slippy just with it being autumn. My only criticism is the location in that it’s close to a road so traffic noise was quite high. Also, the cabins either look out on each other or on a metal fence so not the most scenic views. There is also no WiFi in the cabins.

Overall lovely

Collmer, Justin - 13/09/2024

Our stay was overall lovely , the hot tub was great and the facility’s in the premium cabin was good, only things to let it down was the level of cleanliness, there’s was a lot of dirt around the skirtings, a lingering smell of gone off dog meat in the fridge/ kitchen area, me personally would recommend leaving some antibacterial spray or wipes+ bathroom cleaner for the toilet in the cabins as washing up liquid only does the job to a certain extent but besides this we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in a premium lodge & was very happy with it

Piper, Jayne - 05/09/2024

A couple of jiggles in the lodge - the bottom of the pedal bin was absolutely filthy. It hadn’t been cleaned or checked in a long time. Also, please provide more bin liners as we didn’t think to take any & we’re struggling using supermarket carrier bags We had to clean it. Also the table outside hadn’t been checked and the receptacle bin (ice?) had rubbish in it so you might like to alert your cleaners to that. However, everywhere else was clean and looked appealing when we went in. Plenty of nice big towels and bedding clean & fresh! Also, lovely and cosy with the heating which you’d need during the autumn/winter.
