Pennine View a family-run caravan and camp site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from the centre of the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen. It sits at the midway point of the Coast to Coast route and are only a short drive from both the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines, meaning that there are lots of walks and cycle routes nearby catering for all tastes.

These beautiful wooden pods can sleep up to 5 people and come with mattresses which convert from comfy benches to a big bed. The pods also come fully equipped with heating, light, a fridge and a kettle. In addition to the stunning mountain views, outside each pod, guests can make use of a BBQ and picnic bench

Guests will need to bring their own bedding, cooking equipment and utensils, towels and charcoal for the BBQ.

Well behaved dogs are allowed in our pods, however you must bring your own bedding for them.

Our spacious washrooms are well appointed and open 24 hours. They boast individual wash cubicles with mirrors, free hot showers, hair dryers and a deep sink in the ladies for baby bathing. A large disabled room is available in both the ladies and gents, which can be used as a family cubicle.

A children’s play area is provided with a swing and climbing frame with slide. Children must be supervised whilst playing on site.

We have a small shop in reception selling essentials to stock you up when you run out. (Plus chocolate because that’s an essential in our eyes!)

We offer free WiFi to our guests on site across all accommodations

From pulling up and checking in everything was explained we were early so asked if we could park up and we could even park next to pod while cleaning in process.Off we went to play park and quick dog walk.A check in call to say pod was ready so popped back for keys and sweets for Lucia[5] even got complimentary chocolate eggs. The lady who dealt with us on check-in was perfect really felt she was interested in us and our stay so big thanks for that.Lucia brought some toys games and puzzles for the engine shed and loved the pod engine shed later lovely and warm .Pod was clean and warm well equipped also used the camping kitchen as kettle was quicker for a brew.toilets and showers were used on camping field all brilliant.as was engine shed used the refurbished shower block before as stayed before always spot on .staff are all so warm and welcoming and our 5 year old slept all night so winning all round thankyou to everyone at Pennine view keep doing what your doing we love it xx

My Family have been coming to Pennine View for years and it never disappoints. The improvements that have been made to the site over the last few years are amazing and the Pods are a wonderful alternative when you don’t feel like pitching a tent! Always clean, exceptionally friendly staff and amazing value for money. Such a beautiful part of the world, thank you for another brilliant stay!

Fab Weekend

We love this site. Been 4 times now and atayed jn the mountain pod. Really easy to get too. It is about a 20 minute walk to the village. The showers and toilets are clean. Great for nearby walks.I think they should put a microwave in the kitchen near the pods as there are no cooking facilities in them. This way you could cook stuff before you come and warm it up in there. The Engine Shed onsite bar do great food and it has a nice atmosphere. I do think it would be perfect.if they served breakfast too. Food only starts at tea time Would definitely stay again

The two of us stayed in a 5 person pod for 3 nights in September. The pod had everything we needed, seating that converted into a bed, a fridge, heating, kettle and crockery/cutlery. The site was clean and well maintained and the onsite pub was great too. Excellent all round.

We stayed in a pod, it’s our 3rd visit and would highly recommend the pods and the site overall. New shower block is great, really clean with hot powerful showers. The pods are cosy warm and very well equipped. The bed is super comfy too. The Engine shes is great for food and drinks and there is a park if you have children. Short walk into Kirkby Stephen and many other lovely walks in the area including the viaduct walk and river. Can’t wait to return it’s the best camp site we have been on!
