Pennine View a family-run caravan and camp site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from the centre of the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen. It sits at the midway point of the Coast to Coast route and are only a short drive from both the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines, meaning that there are lots of walks and cycle routes nearby catering for all tastes.
This beautiful wooden pod can sleep up to 4 people with a big double mattress and a pull out mattress for up to 2 children. The pods also come fully equipped with heating, light, a fridge and a kettle. In addition to the stunning mountain views, outside each pod, guests can make use of a BBQ and picnic bench
Guests will need to bring their own bedding, cooking equipment and utensils, towels and charcoal for the BBQ.
Well behaved dogs are allowed in our pods, however you must bring your own bedding for them.
Our spacious washrooms are well appointed and open 24 hours. They boast individual wash cubicles with mirrors, free hot showers, hair dryers and a deep sink in the ladies for baby bathing. A large disabled room is available in both the ladies and gents, which can be used as a family cubicle.
A children’s play area is provided with a swing and climbing frame with slide. Children must be supervised whilst playing on site.
We have a small shop in reception selling essentials to stock you up when you run out. (Plus chocolate because that’s an essential in our eyes!)
We offer free WiFi to our guests on site across all accommodations

Such a lovely stop on the Coast to Coast. The pod was really nice, facilities superb, staff ever so friendly, on-site bar was great.

Love this site, would like more cabins so more of our friends would stay at the same time. Love the bar restaurant but not over impressed with the food. New shower block refurb is great.

We were in a pod and used the camping facilities. The toilets smelt of stale urine - and were communal. As a female - I don't want to go into a toilet which a man has used and left the seat up and splashed urine all over the seat and floor. The shower head in one of the showers was not attached to the pole - had to be held up by hand.Nowhere obvious to leave the key upon leaving.

We stayed in one of the pods, upon arrival it was obvious someone had left the window open overnight so it had rained inside! The staff were quick to clean up and couldn’t apologise enough, so didnt spoil anything. The site is small but great shower and toilet facilities which are very clean and quite new. There is a pub onsite that opens everyday at 4pm, each day they do a different menu and the food is lovely. Childrens park onsite if you have kids. Nice little village 20 mins walk down the road with plenty of shops and pubs. Not much to do nearby but Ingleton Falls is less than an hour away which is a full day out, Brough castle ice cream parlour is 20mins away or you can just chill on the site.Overall a great little site

We stayed in one of the Pods which the children loved. The campsite is very well kept, lovely and clean. Food at The Engine Shed was delicious. Just a very good feel good campsite. Kids enjoyed the park.

Booked the smaller pod, for 1 adult, 1 child & 2 dogs!We all fit perfectly, Pod came equipped with fridge, kettle, cutlery & a mirror ( which came in handy) The main toilets/showers were immaculately clean. Equipped with hairdryers/straighteners - I did find the toilets nearest to pod not as so, however it’s school holidays and lots of children. Food/drinks reasonably priced and pizzas are delicious Park overall is clean/tidy 100% would return/recommend

Small, friendly site, absolutely spotless bathrooms and showers. We stayed in the camping pod which had everything needed. Fridge, kettle and heater, very comfortable bed, a fully equipped communal kitchen for the campers in either tents or pods. Over all it was a brilliant campsite in a stunning location. And to top it off the campsite pub was an amazing building with a great atmosphere and great beers. We will definitely be back as it has reingited my love of camping.

Absolutely loved our time at Pennine View , first two nights trying out an Eriba caravan and second two nights in the cosy pod, the site is perfectly situated for everything including the train line, the bar is very nice serving different food most nights snd we saw live music . The only reason for not retiring there are too many other places to visit

1. Reception Closed on Arrival.2. Were told there was a SPAR shop next door- it was 0.6 miles away.3. Toaster didn't work in kitchen4. Hob was disgusting.5. Specified we wanted 2 beds - there was one bed and a mattress under one of the beds. When pulled out took entire floor space.6. No seating.7. Equipment in drying room was metered and failed to do the job it was intended to.8. Person sleeping on floor level mattress was subjected to the most god damn awful smell from under the bed - making sleep an impossibility.9. Worst stay of all our Coast to Coast walk accommodation and that includes the 2 nights we camped and one of those was in rain and gale force winds on Blakey Ridge.10. For an example of how to kit out a two person camping pod you should take a look at the Youth Hostel in Borrowdale - 200% better than the one we had here. Sorry
