Mains Farm Caravan Site is a family run quiet touring park, set in the countryside well away from main roads, yet within easy reach of the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders.
Mains Farm offers a choice of 12 camping pods where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Eden Valley. Each pod includes electric, lighting, electric heater for cool winter nights, a porch for sitting out and a picnic bench for dining.
Outstanding peaceful, rural location with spectacular views of the Eden Valley in Cumbria. Enjoy walks direct from the glamping site in the Lake District including a lovely, short riverside walk to the village of Kirkoswald, which has a shop, post office and a choice of two Inns. Ullswater is less than 15 miles away where you will find some fantastic walking routes. One of our favourite routes takes in Lacy's Caves and Long Meg Stone Cirle. The C2C cycle route is within 1 mile of the site and an 18 hole golf course is only a 10 minute drive away. There is an enclosed children's play area with swings and slides for those wanting a family glamping break in the Lake District or why not visit the Lazonby heated outdoor swimming pool from your glampsite at Mains Farm.

Just had a another fab weekend at Mains farm staying in a camping pod. They are great for when its just me and partner and the dog. The site is kept immaculately, not overcrowded, everyone is so friendly and the views are perfect from the Cart Horse field.

We visit here on regular basis and have been in a tent and camping pod. We find the farm./ campsite a relaxing environment. Clean and lovely walk to the river Eden. The views are stunning. Usually I pay extra reps private bathroom. You can rent A fire pit. It would be nice to have the option to rent a parasol when the weather is hot as can not always fit one in the car. Amenities are good local pub warm and welcoming with good food. Went to Keswick and Penrith and Barnard castle.

We stayed at Mains Farm over the May bank holiday with a group of friends in a selection of pods and tents. The welcome from Julie and Robert was warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they had some wonderful stories to tell about the history of the farm.We attended the Beats & Bites night on the Saturday which was great and brought the community as well as campers together. The vision of the hot air balloons taking off from the next field just added to the magic! We had a couple of walks into the local villages along the river and popped into the pubs to get into the warm! The facilities were great, plenty of loos, showers and kitchen facilities. The kettles were a godsend in the morning rather than having waiting for water to boil on a hob for your first cuppa of the day. The staff were constantly cleaning so there was always someone to speak to if you needed help. I loved Mains Farm and have already recommended it to friends and hope to come back next year
