Lordstones is a privately owned Country Park offering glamping in the North York Moors National Park.

Our Glamping Pods are hand built and bespoke to us, they offer more space than the standard 'Mega Pods' available at other glamping sites, they have also just recently been given a fresh new look, making them among the most desirable pods for glamping in Yorkshire!

The pods are located in their own secluded Pod Village, surrounded by ponds and have beautiful Moorland views.

Each glamping pod contains a small washroom with toilet and wash basin, a double bed & double sofa-bed and can comfortably sleep up to 4 people and are ideal for 2 Adults & 2 Children. There is also a small kitchenette area with travel kettle, under counter fridge and basin and dining table & chairs. Guests have access to a wood burning stove to keep them warm on their Yorkshire glamping trip and each pod has a personal outdoor decking area with seating and a cast iron BBQ.

We have a minimum stay of 2 nights and we are a pet friendly glamping site, accepting pets in two of our pods (subject to availability).

Just a stone's throw from your accommodation you will find; The Lordstones Shop, selling local produce including our own hand-reared beef and all the camping essentials from logs to lemonade! You will also find The Lordstones cafe which is the perfect destination for a quick coffee stop, or an enjoyable lunch and The Belted Bull Restaurant which offers the finest quality, locally sourced produce. The restaurant is open from 6 till late, Thursday through to Saturday.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to pre-book bedding & towels or bring your own. Our glamping pods do not contain any cutlery or crockery.

Fab place to stay, eat, have fun and amazing walks and views in short distance. Went to the bbq and band night, which was extremely well organised, amazing food and an amazing band. Such a great night. Stayed in the glamping pod which was well equipped and very comfy and warm.

Fantastic first glamping pod experience

We spent 2 nights in the pods which were equipped with everything we needed for our stay. They are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and nothing was any trouble for them. Breakfast in the restaurant was great. We did amazing walks, enjoyed a night being entertained by Last Anthem and generally just chilling with friends from another pod. Can’t recommend this place enough. Definitely will be back

Lovely, peaceful stay.

We stayed in the pods and they were great value for money. The pod itself wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped but overall it was fine. This applies to the toilets and showers also - male and female. They were a little run down and unclean. The male facilities only had one shower working. The male who works in the cafe/restaurant was particularly friendly and helpful and we were really grateful for him. The grounds themselves are lovely, whether you’re camping or staying in one of the pods or roundhouses and there are routes close by for lovely scenic walks and runs. We don’t live too far away and would consider coming back for a weekend.

Went for lunch on the Saturday unfortunately no loaded fries available so decided to wait until our evening meal. Went at 7pm seated & given a menu staff pleasant. They returned to see if we had decided but we asked for a bit longer, so the lady got us some drinks & then advised they didn’t have half the menu. Very frustrated as the reason they didn’t have half of the main courses was due to the meat that would have been on the loaded fries. So they knew at 12:30 that they didn’t have half the meals but didn’t say anything or even tell us until after they sold us our drinks. We didn’t want a fish finger sandwich, chicken burger or toastie when going out for a nice meal & didn’t want the most expensive steak. So we left without eating & explained why. Due to having two drinks one & lunch & one they just served me meant I couldn’t drive so couldn’t get food from elsewhere. Left key on the bar in the morning as no one around, sad to say I won’t be returning after many visits

Response from the owner

Good morning.Thank you for your valued review. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your evening meal with us at Lordstones. It is certainly not our intention to run out of any menu items, but that day in particular meant that we were low/running out of some menu items, such as our chicken parmesan. This was a particularly busy day of service it must be noted. Our restaurant supervisor, Olivia, informed you that we did not have the beef ragu or the chicken parmesan due to stock levels but every other item on the menu was available, as was our premium steaks. Just to note, our steaks are priced some £10.00 cheaper than our local competitors, so we believe they constitute good value. It is a shame that we could not accommodate you and your menu requirements on this occasion but we hope that we can welcome you back. Our staff and management always try to accommodate our customer requests, so rest assured we will learn from this experience with stocking levels.

Summer holiday 2 night getaway

The glamping pods are brilliant set ups to enjoy the outdoors whilst providing a secure set up for the nights. No wifi was brilliant to force us to enjoy the surroundings even more and the area around lordstones has lots to explore. The price is very reasonable and in future we would do 3 nights as it felt a-bit rushed doing 2. This would have been 5stars as everything was catered to and available including seating/bbq. However sadly the bed/futon were very uncomfortable and could likely do with being refreshed.

I stayed in a cabin at Lordstones for a long weekend with our family of four and dog. We had a wonderful stay and the experience was made even better by the brilliant team. All the staff were super friendly and kind. Perfect base for beautiful walks. We had 3 meals during our stay and all were delicious. The steak is amazing! We look forward to return again in the future.

Lordstones is a beautiful place, the location is out if this world with the Cleveland way running right through it. There's is plenty of room to park and they have a overflow car park as well as it does get busy during the day.The staff are all very friendly and helpful, its very laid back with a chilled out feel about the place.I normally stay in the old pods which are great and peaceful, they have the basics in there, kettle, microwave, plates and cutlery etc and they have a toilet in them with the shower block not too far away. These pods could do with a spruce up though. The cafe opens during the day and shuts around tea time when all the walkers have gone home, the food is very high quality, you will pay a bit extra but it's well worth it, on Fridays and Saturdays it opens up as a restaurant which again serves brilliant food.Stayed there about a dozen times over the years and will continue to do so for years to come hopefully.Highly recommended.

Clean, tidy and roomy pods. Secluded enough to be private and still close to the restaurant and bar. Fabulous walks in and around the site.

A Perfect Peaceful Getaway

We planned this stay for me and my wife, and we couldn’t believe how relaxing and quiet it was! We brought our dogs along, and they loved it—settling in perfectly at night. The pods are thoughtfully positioned to give you plenty of privacy while still allowing you to enjoy the stunning surrounding area. They're also very secure, so we felt comfortable leaving for a few hours while we went hiking. The car park is close, and the on-site restaurant serves some of the best food I’ve ever had—highly recommend the steak pie! We’re already looking to book a return visit in the winter. The pods are equipped with a wood-burning stove, I can imagine they make the space warm and cosy in the winter. The staff were incredibly friendly and they even took the time to stop and chat with us, which made the experience feel even more personal. This place feels untouched by time, and I hope it stays that way—it’s truly a hidden gem that deserves to be preserved just as it is.

Location, Location, Location!

Site is accessible (24hours a day!), Location is stunning and the views amazing. Staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly. The pod facilities are the best I have experienced with the services it provides, fridge, lighting, toilet and bed complete with bedding and the value for money - surprising Yorkshire value! Restaurant and Cafe have a great range and great value for money.Local attractions are the Cleveland Way and Lordstones views. My only recommendation would be to modify the shop offer. Catering for day trippers (which make most of the visitor population I suspect), but for this who are staying for a longer period some basics would be appreciated...fresh bread, cooked meats, beer and wine.
