"KUKOO HUT"

D Earls - Stayed with family, Jul 2018

I stayed in the kukoo hut for 2 nights and it was fine, it could have been a bit cleaner but I just got on with my break. The position of the hut is a little bit isolated if your staying on your own as I was with two children. The only fault I would have with the park... I stayed in the kukoo hut for 2 nights and it was fine, it could have been a bit cleaner but I just got on with my break. The position of the hut is a little bit isolated if your staying on your own as I was with two children. The only fault I would have with the park was the kids entertainment, the children are allowed leave the hall whenever they like, my own 2 left the film before it was over and ran back down to me {age 4 & 7}. Other people were looking for their children after the film only to find that they had gone to other tents on site. I think the people doing the entertainment are not experienced enough to be dealing with the children and there should be a phone number taken as they go in. The morning kids club was much the same the phone number was taken but children were still allowed to leave when they were brought out to the toilet, mine were fine but parents ended up looking for kids who had left.

I really like everything about River Valley .. I think the area beside the Kukoo hut on the corner should be cleared for a tent add on option.. I think you should have more kukoo huts ... i look forward to returning.. the tennis courts need a lot of attention.. as... I really like everything about River Valley .. "Frequency of kids activities"

Ms M Dawson - Stayed with family, Jul 2018

Disappointed with the kids train that only operated twice daily. The kids activities were listed on a black board ie go-carts were to open 2-5pm when we went to go the gate was padlocked.

Stayed here for 1 night last week with my daughter who is 5. The kukoo hut was absolutely beautiful my daughter adored it wanted to live there ! 😂 I didn't know the kukoo hut was a bit isolated and not next to other cabins but for a 1 night stay it didn't bother us everything was such a short walk away. Staff were very friendly and there's a good few little facilities for kids in the campsite but I did find they were quite dirty with bird poo etc. We just got in before peak so not really any of the activities were happening for kids as they claimed they didn't have enough numbers, but these activities were still advertised on the blackboard. Myself and a small few other parents waited for the children's train to come as it was advertised but when we questioned they said there weren't enough children. I think the young man working there could sense our disappointment and did all he could to have a driver up and on the train within minutes and although the train was covered in dust and spider webs we really enjoyed and appreciated the spin. There was a lack of maintenance of the area. There were overgrown weeds, nettles and thistles everywhere especially the entire way up flanagans walk. A lot of spiderwebs and bird poo on every bench or table or chair you could see. Supervision is definitely needed at the crazy golf and playground areas. Although it wasn't packed, there were still a few little delinquents running riot and ruining it for the smaller kids. The donkeys and sheep in the field next to us looked malnourished and were panting uncontrollably in the heat and nearly breaking through the fence to try reach whatever food we had. That was all the negative I had to mention it so it can be worked on. Aside from this we really enjoyed our stay my daughter was amazed by the place. The toilet facilities were absolutely spotless all of the time. The staff were mostly great and very friendly and willing to help. They refunded our unused tokens which was great. The slushies were a big hit. For a 1 night stay we had plenty to do and it's a great place to meet other people. The campsite is huge and well presented. The pancake/crepe people are amazing ! Nicest crepes ever and a lovely little area to sit. We travelled from offaly so it was great to have good condition main roads the whole way and the place was easy to find on google maps. Im glad we went when we did as although they didnt run some activities because of lack of children, my daughter was thrilled not to have to queue for slides or swings in the playground or mini golf or anything like that she ran free and had an absolute ball! We really enjoyed our stay and met some lovely people there !

Hi. I stayed in one of your Kukoo huts. The only thing I can think you could do is supply a bin. Other than that, all's good Thanks Peter
