Set in the grounds of a Historic House of almost 700 years, The Hamlet at Samlesbury Hall brings a modern take on the quirky, medieval nature of the building.

We have 18 beautiful Shepherd's Huts available, each of which really operates as its own room. There is accommodation for up to four people in each hut with two memory foam mattresses in a bunk bed style layout. There are plug sockets with USB ports for low wattage electricity, alongside a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities (of course!). All of this comes with an en-suite bathroom and power shower. Bedding, towels and toiletries are all provided for your stay. All of our huts are fitted with central heating, to keep you warm in the winter months and to allow the Hamlet to open all year round! Breakfast can be added onto your stay if you wish. It will be served in the Restaurant of the Main Hall the following morning.

Book to stay in one hut or bring your family and friends and book a few, there's plenty to choose from! We allow dogs in one of our huts, so bring along your furry friends too!

Per chance you want to risk a wander around the grounds of one of the most haunted locations in Britain, you are more than welcome to! Who knows what you might spot? The Hall does offer overnight ghost hunts throughout the year so keep an eye out for events coming up. Samlesbury Hall itself is open everyday, except Saturdays and the occasional Friday when we have weddings taking place. The Hamlet, however, is open all year! The Hall is free to enter and to have a look around, with guided tours taking place on Sundays (again, all free!). Follow this with a lovely lunch in our restaurant or even treat yourself to a waffle and ice-cream in Dottie's Wafflery! During school holidays there are numerous activities taking place for children at the Hall, team this with a trip to see our mini farm of pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. Follow the woodland trail and spent hours of fun on the Mayflower Play Area! After a busy day spent at the Hall, what is better than returning to your hut for a relaxing evening around the Fire Pit.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and not just at the Hall, we are only half an hour away from Blackpool, Lancaster and Lytham if you fancy a trip out, or if you'd prefer something a bit more local we are only 5 minutes away from Brockholes Nature Reserve and the famous Preston Guild Wheel cycle route.

I can only speak as a guest at a wedding, rather than a tourist. I enjoyed the stay, for what it was. I felt it was perhaps a little expensive for the size and duration of stay - but for the convenience of being able to walk back from the wedding at the hall, it was perfect and we had a very comfortable night's sleep.

We stayed at the Hamlet on Friday 16th November, we arrived around 5:30pm and went to the bar for the key, we were greeted by the bartender and handed the key. We drove round to the huts but were unable to see from the path which hut we were staying in, therefore numbered parking bays may help and also a bit more lighting around the car park. Maybe it would be nice to have small sign posts to say where each hut is. The huts were lovely and warm and the beds were very comfortable, we were really impressed by the shower too! We felt the keychain was a little too big so left it behind and just took the key so maybe a smaller key chain if we are being really picky. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will definetely recommend to family, friends and our wedding guests!

We stayed at the Hamlet for one night on 10th November 2018 whilst attending a wedding reception. The first shepherds hut we was given (No 3), was not acceptable, it was cold and all the bedding was damp. I complained to the staff as my wife is scheduled for surgery in the next week and didn't want to risk her catching a cold or worse with the damp bedding in the cabin. We was then offered cabin No 15, which was the cabin shown on our original invoice and this was much better and we had a great night. The only problems I would say that really need addressing if your visiting for a function in the main hall are :- 1) The road to the Sheperds huts is very muddy and full of holes and not a good road suface for a large proportion of the road, this totaly messed up our car with mud. 2) Lighting on the said road was poor to say the least 3) Access to the main hall, was once again muddy at times and little or no lighting to help see where you was going (thank god for mobile phones with torches built in) not good if your wearing fancy foot ware. I thought for £130 per night, it was expensive for what you was getting and the breakfasts although very good was at an extra charge.

Having to walk through large rain puddles in sandals in the pitch black is not something I want to be doing again soon, be sure to take a torch and wellies!!

It was very toasty. The car park was easily accessible to carry bags. The firepit lit very quickly and the tables and chairs outside enabled us to sit around the firepit late into the evening. No problem with any facility in the hut. A definite must to recommend to all family and friends.
