St Helens is a great location for glamping in Yorkshire. It is an attractive, established park offering a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere set in wonderful surroundings with first-class facilities.

St Helens is an ideal base from which to enjoy your North York Moors National Park glamping break with excellent on site facilities, a range of local village amenities and Scarborough, Helmsley only a few miles away.

Situated on the 3000 acre family owned Dawnay Estate, St Helens in the Park features a beautiful country park, perfect for walking and relaxing. There are even alpacas and donkeys to look at along the way. There is also a 3 acre dog run.

Our purpose built wooden pods at this glampsite in Yorkshire offer a truly unique glamping experience. All you need to bring with you is your camping and sleeping equipment, there's no need to worry about putting your tent up and down! Glamping pods are hugely popular with children and adults alike because they’re hassle free.

Each glamping pod sleeps up to four people and has enough space for two double sized air mattresses or camp beds.

Thanks to their fantastic insulation, the glamping pods are kept warm in the winter months and cool in the summer months with a window and locking French doors able to offer additional ventilation in hotter weather.

The glamping pods come with an electric socket with USB ports, a mirror, a light and black out lined curtains. Onsite there is free WiFi available, free shower and toilet facilities, a shop and cafe, a children's play area, a designated field for ball games and a launderette.

The popular Wykeham Fishing and Leisure Lakes are only a short walk away from the campsite. With four fresh water lakes, it is an ideal place for trout fishing and a variety of course fishing. The Lakes are home to the largest Pike in England. The leisure lake offers a variety of different activities including stand up paddle boarding, sailing, wind surfing and kayaking.

For your convenience we have our very own bus stop right outside the Park's entrance giving easy access to nearby Scarborough and Helmsley.

St Helens glamping is in the centre of Wykeham village which offers a variety of amenities. The Downe Arms Country Inn serves bar snacks and a la carte meals should you wish to eat out and Wykeham tea rooms is only a short walk away.

Stayed in a pod for two nights. The pods are perfect for couples, with lighting and heating. Feels like camping but without the hassle of the tent!

First trip to St Helens and anywhere in a pod. Loved the location of pod 9 on the camping field. Toilets a little further away than would normally like but the fact that the childrens playground and field space was right in front of us outweighed this. We particularly liked the fact that dogs were not allowed on this field and this would make us return. Toilets were generally very clean but would benefit from a check over st teatime. The shower block however was spotless at all times. We didn’t eat at the cafe but would definitely use it next time, the ladies who ran it were super friendly and clearly worked hard. The pod is basic but had electricity and water tap right outside. It was clean and warm, we didn’t need the heater as the weather was mild, and a bench and picnic table provided. The only minor fault I could make is that I would have liked to be able to turn off the outside porch light rather than it staying on all night. We walked to eat at the Downe arms one eve, it’s 5/10 mins max and the food was delicious. Service not as good but this may have been a blip as there was a wedding going on. We booked to go to the water wipeout at the North Yorkshire water park only 5 mins away by car. You get a 20% discount if you book through Andrew in the office. This was a fabulous end to our stay.

We stayed in one of the pods for 2 nights and our friends stayed in another pod. The location of the pods that we had was perfect for our children who all made great use of the fantastic wooden play equipment and the field for playing. Toilet / shower block was very clean and the on-site cafe was perfect for breakfast. We walked through the wood to a local pub but otherwise, on a weekend stay, there as no reason to leave the site as the children enjoyed the freedom that they had on what felt like a very safe site. Would definitely recommend.

"A lovely short stay."

Mrs H Taylor - Stayed with family, Apr 2018

The pod was great for a short stay. And the play park was easily accessible and visible from the pod. Great location too. The only niggle I had was that the plug in the pod was at the back so we needed a long extension cable (which we had to buy). But it didn't... The pod was great for a short stay.
