The photos don’t do the pods justice. I didn’t realise it would have central heating as the description doesn’t say it does. Great kitchenette and sleeping arrangements. Large double very comfy. Sofa bed was fine for the children. Perfect location close to children’s park and food van serving delicious pizzas by day/night and bacon butty by morning!

The glamping pods were great and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfy and although we didn’t need to use them as we had a bathroom in our pod the communal toilets and showers were amazing! The park was really clean and well looked after. Beautiful views onto the Lake District.

We stayed in a dog friendly pod, which was great for amenities but the smell of dog really hit us as we first entered - we have a dog so it’s something we are accustomed too but this smell was quite strong which gives me the impression cleaning isn’t very thorough? I also wonder how you protect from fleas in these pods? It’s not the first pod we’ve stayed in at Hillcroft that has smelt pungent! Found (some of) the staff to be quite rude this time unfortunately, bar the fish and chip van who we must compliment - really love guys and a great addition to the park. The butty van however was such a let down, really poor quality and service. Grass/grounds don’t seem as well kept as previous years unfortunately. Hot water failed on us the last day, a cold shower was not welcomed, I informed the staff before we left and they were apologetic, not too much of a problem as we could use the shared showers. Check in/check out smooth enough!

Staff were so friendly and helpful, the pod was so clean and tidy for our arrival and we had the best time ever. We will definitely stay in a glamping pod at Hillcroft again!

This was our 4th year visiting Hillcroft for the August bank holiday weekend and it was the perfect break.Storm Lillian was in full swing and our camping friends had a bad night, but in the pods we couldn’t hear any disruption and it was so cozy.John & his team helped campers fix any issues and set up to weather more wind and rain, and this actually made it as enjoyable as possible even in very difficult conditions. All of the facilities are spotless and we’ve booked to come back next year. Highly recommend this place. It’s also only a 10 minute walk to Pooley bridge and has Aira Force just down the road.Recommendations: Book a meal at the Secret Garden and have afternoon tea at Granny D’s or get a pizza from Hillcroft to have in the pod. Take a walk up the hill at the back of the camping field on the Ullswater way, up to the stone circle for beautiful views (30/40 mins), and for a day at the lake if you have your own paddle board etc. park at the Glenridding steamers ca

Hillcroft is a brilliant site to stay on. We do Glamping & the pods are always very clean. Nothing is a bother to staff. My son & family camped in their tent with us last week during storm Lilian! They had to put their tent in the bin after the first night but staff were quick to accommodate them in a camping pod at a reduced rate. My daughter & family were also in another Glamping pod & their electric went off during the night. Staff were there in 10 minutes of their phone call to them on the morning & staff even said they should have rang during the night! Our grandsons love the play area & the freedom of the site. Thank you Hillcroft

Pros- location is great, short walk to Pooley Bridge.Friendly and efficient staff.Glamping pods were spotless and cosy.Cons- toddler slide at the park was closed off throughout our stay, I'm guessing because of the puddle at the bottom of slide which could've been easily rectified with some bark added to soak it up. That was a shame for my 1 year old who couldn't enjoy much else at the parkShop was far too overpriced but to be expected
