The glamping pods at Hillcroft Park are the perfect location for glamping near Lake Ullswater in the Lake District. Owned and operated by the Heath Family, the award-winning Hillcroft Park sits above the pretty lakeside village of Pooley Bridge.
Hillcroft Park boasts one of the most stunning locations of any UK holiday park and you are sure to have an unforgettable glamping holiday here. Designed to meet the needs of holiday makers who appreciate the peace and tranquility found in this part of the world, Hillcroft Park provides an ever-changing landscape that is simply breathtaking throughout the year.
Our glamping pods are suitable for couples or families for up to 4 people. They are equipped with a king size bed, an en-suite shower, toilet, and sink, heating, a sofa in the living area that pulls out to a double bed, a kitchenette, table and chairs however you are required to bring your own bedding (i.e. pillows, sleeping bags, blankets, etc.) and other accessories as you would if you were camping. You can hire a Crockery box for £25 and or a linen pack for 2 guests for £25.00. These can be ordered via telephone prior to your arrival.
We love what we do and work hard to go that extra mile for our guests. Providing the best facilities with a personal touch, we’ve an onsite shop that sells a good range of local produce and everyday staples plus a play area with outdoor table tennis and football tables. There is a dedicated laundry room and a drying room.
We are lucky enough to be located in the beautiful Ullswater Valley and there are a multitude of walks for all levels and abilities in the area. A recent addition to the list is the Ullswater Way – a 20 mile circular walking route around the lake. The route can be walked in either direction and from any starting point.

We had a wonderful long weekend with family & friends. The campsite is quiet and in a wonderful location. The glamping pod is good, but not as good as others we’ve been to … you have to bring so much stuff, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, bedding, towels, etc, etc. It’s easy for us non-campers to forget essentials e.g. sharp knives, a cutting board. The space isn’t as ‘user friendly’ as it might be, just one of many examples is getting down on your hands and knees in order to use the microwave / oven. The lighting is either bright or none existent. We chose Hillcroft for a number of reasons, one of the important ones is that some of the friends and family that have vans that we spend time with find the facilities excellent. The views of Ullswater are also wonderful … which I agree with. We’ve booked to go back to the Quiet Site next year … we’ll need a lot less stuff & time to ‘set up’ and ‘pack up’ and the the little extra that we pay is definitely worth it.

We have booked year after year to visit on the same weekend as a family get together. We absolutely love our time at Hillcroft and have made so many very good memories there. Mum and dad are able to go in the caravan then other branches of the family all gathered in the glamping pods. We love it!! The owners and staff are always really friendly and accommodating and the location is great too! Can’t recommend enough!

We found the site and staff to be lovely. The location was excellent with great facilities on and near the site. We stayed in pod 9 which was really nice but unfortunately we had to leave Saturday night rather than Sunday morning as myself and partner both woke up around 5am with terrible back pain from the mattress. Mine was so bad I was on tablets all day just to help me move. We had to make the sad decision to not sleep on it again in fear of making my pain worse. The bed settee wasn't an option either as you could feel the wood frame underneath you. We would not return if sleeping in a pod but if the cottages and caravans have better mattresses we definitely would. It was our first visit to pooley bridge and loved it so it was a hard decision to leave early but a necessary one. The mattress is pictured as it is not the same as on the website

This was our 4th time visiting hillcroft. We love it here. Perfect location, within walking distance of the village, but out of the way enough to appreciate the amazing countryside views. Staff are lovely and friendly and the facilities are second to none. We are just waiting for next year's dates to be released so we can book our return visit. Thanks again

We have been coming for the past 12 years at Easter. We come with 4 other families. The staff are amazing and friendly. The guys in the pizza van are awesome. We love coming to see you all each year. We have already booked for Easter 2025. We started in tents and then moved to the glamping pods. They are fantastic and would highly recommend. The toilet and shower block is extremely clean and lovely. We would highly recommend anyone wanting to camp or glamp to book
