The glamping pods at Hillcroft Park are the perfect location for glamping near Lake Ullswater in the Lake District. Owned and operated by the Heath Family, the award-winning Hillcroft Park sits above the pretty lakeside village of Pooley Bridge.
Hillcroft Park boasts one of the most stunning locations of any UK holiday park and you are sure to have an unforgettable glamping holiday here. Designed to meet the needs of holiday makers who appreciate the peace and tranquility found in this part of the world, Hillcroft Park provides an ever-changing landscape that is simply breathtaking throughout the year.
Our glamping pods are suitable for couples or families for up to 4 people. They are equipped with a king size bed, an en-suite shower, toilet, and sink, heating, a sofa in the living area that pulls out to a double bed, a kitchenette, table and chairs however you are required to bring your own bedding (i.e. pillows, sleeping bags, blankets, etc.) and other accessories as you would if you were camping. You can hire a Crockery box for £25 and or a linen pack for 2 guests for £25.00. These can be ordered via telephone prior to your arrival.
We love what we do and work hard to go that extra mile for our guests. Providing the best facilities with a personal touch, we’ve an onsite shop that sells a good range of local produce and everyday staples plus a play area with outdoor table tennis and football tables. There is a dedicated laundry room and a drying room.
We are lucky enough to be located in the beautiful Ullswater Valley and there are a multitude of walks for all levels and abilities in the area. A recent addition to the list is the Ullswater Way – a 20 mile circular walking route around the lake. The route can be walked in either direction and from any starting point.

We have been visiting Hillcroft Park for a number years and try to visit as often as possible, the glamping pod is warm, cosy and has everything we need for our stay. The site is immaculate from the landscape to the facilities and all staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is just perfect with the village just a few minutes walk away with great places to shop, eat and drink all dog friendly too, also having great links to the ferry and many amazing walks with breathtaking views directly from the Hillcroft Park.

When we booked it was a little unclear as to what facilities came with the pod. A brief telephone call clarified the matter. Upon arrival we received a pleasant greeting and the position of the pod confirmed. The pod itself was clean, tidy and cosy. Once unpacked we linked up with family, who were in their respective caravans, and so began the weekend celebrations of our daughter’s 50th. It started with an evening meal in the Pooley Bridge Inn with family and friends. The following day involved a trip to Ambleside (Apple Pie Shop). The next day we walked down to the Ulswater Steamer Station to take a trip around the lake, stopping at Glenridding for coffee at The Inn on the Lake. All in all a lovely weekend. We found Hillcroft Park the ideal spot to stay.

We started coming to Hillcroft over 25 years ago when we owned a static . We no longer have it as the kids grew out of it. We have camped more recently but have now moved onto the Glamping Pods which are amazing. In the cooler months you have the heating in them which is lovely and cosy. We particularly like the fact it’s less than 10mins walk into the village which has numerous pubs and cafes/restaurants. Amazing place !

The photos don’t do the pods justice. I didn’t realise it would have central heating as the description doesn’t say it does. Great kitchenette and sleeping arrangements. Large double very comfy. Sofa bed was fine for the children. Perfect location close to children’s park and food van serving delicious pizzas by day/night and bacon butty by morning!

The glamping pods were great and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfy and although we didn’t need to use them as we had a bathroom in our pod the communal toilets and showers were amazing! The park was really clean and well looked after. Beautiful views onto the Lake District.

We stayed in a dog friendly pod, which was great for amenities but the smell of dog really hit us as we first entered - we have a dog so it’s something we are accustomed too but this smell was quite strong which gives me the impression cleaning isn’t very thorough? I also wonder how you protect from fleas in these pods? It’s not the first pod we’ve stayed in at Hillcroft that has smelt pungent! Found (some of) the staff to be quite rude this time unfortunately, bar the fish and chip van who we must compliment - really love guys and a great addition to the park. The butty van however was such a let down, really poor quality and service. Grass/grounds don’t seem as well kept as previous years unfortunately. Hot water failed on us the last day, a cold shower was not welcomed, I informed the staff before we left and they were apologetic, not too much of a problem as we could use the shared showers. Check in/check out smooth enough!
