We stayed four nights in a Castle Pod. It had the most wonderful views. It was a lovely and surprisingly spacious little pod. The hot tub was wonderful, just what you need after exploring Hadrian's Wall. The site is situated at the top of a steep hill so can be a trek to walk anywhere. There was a fire pit which was great fun to cook on. The kitchen in the pod was great although there was very little space to work on. The bathroom was a little cold and we couldn't adjust the heating. The hosts provided a few coffee pods for a Nespresso machine, sugar, a small carton of milk, and two snack packs of biscuits. We have stayed at a sister site previously who provided a very generous welcome pack including a bottle of fizz, a small fresh loaf, a pat of local butter, a box of chocolates and a few essentials like oil, salt & pepper, and tea bags. We thought this may be the case at Herding Hill Farm, lesson learned! But overall, a really lovely stay and we would recommend.

We have stayed a number of times at Herding Hill, either in our campervan or one of the glamping pods. The facilities are excellent and Warkworth pod is well equipped and comfortable. Nevertheless, we were disappointed that the hot tub was cold on arrival with dead small insects on it. On mentioning this to the staff they arranged for the problem to be resolved, at least temporarily, but unfortunately on the afternoon before we left the hot tub was only lukewarm and not very inviting! This is the only problem we have ever encountered at Herding Hill and I’m sure we will return.

I'm not a camper, however the spouse and close friends love it. So they will scout for places that have a glamping or cabin situation for me. This was an awesome place. Clean, organized, great for families and everyone we encountered super helpful. The cabin was spacious, clean and very importantly the bed was comfy. Great views and if it were a clear night I could imagine the star gazing : ) Will come back again, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Really lovely and relaxing stay in the adult only castle pods. So peaceful and the views were beautiful. We spent hours in the hot tub! Only a short walk to the milecastle pub for our tea, the food was amazing!

We stayed in the accessible Castle Pod, plenty of room in the wet room with a proper shower chair that had handles and back rest and could be moved to wherever you wanted it to be. Hot tub was fantastic with a large screen for privacy but fantastic view. Log burner was so good we got the cabin temperature up to 30°C one cold and very windy night. Plenty of double sockets with usb ports and all the equipment was very high standard. We were both very impressed with all we got for the price, which was much cheaper than other places we considered. Staff very friendly, even going as far as bringing us extra kindling on that very windy night. We would like to return in the summer so we can enjoy the fire pit, BBQ and outside seating.

We had a lovely time at our Castle Pod. Staff were all friendly, helpful and informative. It was ideally located, just a short drive from Haltwhistle or a longer walk into town. Everything was clean and up to date, and the private hot tub was perfect for relaxing. We had a lovely meal at the Manor House and a takeaway from the Fryery.

Beautiful Pod with beautiful views and lovely helpful staff. Only downside was the bedside lamp wasn't working and apparently needed an electrician to fix it, this should have been done 👍 Apart from that perfect 😀

This was our first time visiting and staying at Herding Hill. My wife has MS and we booked this pod and holiday to see how it was for her disability and mobility. We have to say, this was an all round 5* experience. The en-suite wet room cannot be bettered. We enjoyed our relaxing 4 night break so much, we have cancelled another holiday elsewhere in UK for next September and have booked again to return September 2026. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating.Thank you The Henderson’s.
