Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.
Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.
There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.
This compact cabin is great for two people and comes with a twin bedroom and shower cubicle.
The cabin also comes with a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, an under-counter fridge and microwave, and a TV with DVD player. Located in the centre of the site, this A2 cabin has a peaceful and private patio and is frequently visited by wildlife on the park.
A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.
If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.
There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

Lovely place to relax, chill and enjoy nature in comfort. The chalet’s have all the mod cons that you need, the beach is a 10 min walk away, mostly downhill, but you can drive if you have trouble walking. The walk back can be tiring as you get older, but it’s good for you to get the blood pumping. There’s plenty of beaches to choose from, depending on which style of holiday you enjoy. Sandy, and near amenities is most people’s choice, but a nice 10 min walk along the cliff edge and you will find lots of secluded sandy/stoney/rocky areas to pitch up to. There’s plenty of rock pools for those who like exploring. Plymouth is a 20 min drive away and has everything you will ever need, and Dartmoor is on your doorstep, what more do you need for a holiday. Stay in the chalet’s or explore, there’s plenty for everyone’s taste. Highly recommended.

I was very pleased to have been given a cabin which was accessible and which was fairly close to the beach. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely holiday enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Great location. Good facilities. We found the electric charging particularly useful. Enjoyed the walk down to the sea. The site was peaceful and the cabin was clean and well equipped.

Schattig huisje, klein maar compleet. Wel kan het oude meubilair en vloerbedekking vernieuwd worden (Huisje nr 10). Ook weinig servies. Douchecabine te klein voor brede mensen. Zeer vriendelijke mensen. Lekker koel in het bos, daardoor veel privacy. Dichtbij het strand, daar gratis parkeren. Fijn verblijf.

Clean quiet value for money . Basic cabin but everything you need and can hire anything else . Shop adequate . Beach near by but no dogs April to September. Hilly and steps to units so if you have mobility issues you’d need to ring owners to check on suitable accommodation. They are happy to work with you where they can. Very helpful staff. Friendly people locals visitors etc. If there is a heatwave take some mini aircon. If you have a dog they csnt. e left in cabin and not on linen! Very restful place .

A lovely little wooded site with various sized cabins. Roads around the site and surrounding areas very narrow if you have a large vehicle but wasn’t a problem if you take care. Lots of lovely walks in the vicinity and coastal walks beautiful. We booked a basic cabin which was clean and had everything we needed with a cute little private shady patio and outside table and bench. Unfortunately inside had a very musty damp smell the whole time we were there. The sofa was very low down and pretty uncomfortable to sit on. My husband who is 6ft 4 struggled with the size of the shower. We loved the area so if we were to visit again I would pay extra for a newer and larger cabin. The lady who worked in the onsite shop was very friendly and helpful. We ate at 2 of pubs they recommended which were very nice. I would highly recommend the coastal walk from Wembury beach to Warren Point and the little ferry across to Noss Mayo. Beautiful scenery and a lovely pub called The Ship Inn in Noss Mayo.
