Churchwood Valley Holiday Cabins

Churchwood Style Cabin (1 Double & 1 Twin Room)

Lodge
2 Bedrooms
Sleeps 4
Max 2 pets
From £71 per night

Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.

Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.

There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.

This Churchwood-style cabin accommodates up to four people in one double and one twin bedroom with a bath and shower/shower only. This unit has a modern kitchen with a good sized fridge-freezer and microwave. A TV and DVD player are provided to add some cosy entertainment to your stay. Providing high levels of affordable comfort, this cabin is located in a popular part of the site, and has a secluded patio with views across the valley.

A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.

If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.

There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

Beautiful accommodation and location

We had a brilliant week at Churchwood Valley, everything was great! Parking right outside the cabin, little shop perfect for milk and toilet paper, friendly staff (and chickens), warm showers and beautiful views. We were very comfortable in our cabin which had everything we needed (although a drying rack or washing line would be very helpful after days at the beach) We felt very relaxed and well looked after. We spent most of the week on Wembury beach, bodyboarding and exploring the rock pools. It is a rocky beach so do take care on your feet and in the shallows. Our kids also loved a pony ride at the riding school, which is right next to the beach and you can get free parking! The cafe on the beach makes delicious pasties. We also walked along the coastal path towards Newton Ferrers - the walk was gorgeous but make sure you plan what to do at the destination otherwise you might be disappointed. Overall the perfect week and absolutely worth the long journey (from Yorkshire!)

I have been coming for a very long time. I find it so relaxing within the trees, a 10 minute walk to the beach with our dog.

I love everything about church wood. We do like the morning walk to the beach with our dog then waiting for mill cafe to open so we can enjoy coffee, pasty and doggy ice cream. Many thanks xx

This was my 3rd year coming to Churchwood and my partner first came when she was a small child. We absolutely love everything about it. The peacefulness, the nature, the short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches and coastline, lovely cabins, friendly people everywhere, convenient shop on site with helpful staff. I really don't think there's anything I can say I don't like about it, apart from maybe, that's it's a long way from home.

Another week at Churchwood Valley

We have been regular visitors to Churchwood Valley over the years with family at times or now just the two of us. We have been at different times of the year and enjoyed cabins in various parts of the park. We now prefer somewhere where we don't have to climb steps! It's set in a lovely peaceful location. We know exactly what to expect and can please ourselves what we do. We can be as idle or active as we like. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The shop stocks a variety of essentials, gifts and you can get local items such as ice cream Pasties made locally can be ordered. There is a pleasant walk to the nearby beach but you can go by car and park on the private car park by the stables or on the NT car park which is free to members.

Loved it we came to Wembury to visit close friends as we lived in Wembury for a few years and Churchwood is a lovely place to stay. Our two friendly Robins will miss our tit bits.

Great Base for Family Holiday in Devon

The whole family, all nine of us (ranging from toddler to mid-sixties) plus a dog descended on Churchwood at different times on our arrival date. Not a problem and all was hitch free. We took three lodges on the Lower Road overlooking the valley and it’s difficult to convey in a short review, the serenity and relaxed charm that the park very quickly exudes. Ten minutes from the beach, fifteen from the pub, right on the SouthEast Coastal path, it is ideally situated! So why only ‘good’? Well, nit-picking, a small playground for young children and perhaps a little more for young adults to do might just make the difference, but we did not miss such facilities and had a great time. A big shout for the sauna and plunge pool facilities, these were very popular! Will most certainly return!

Location was great, the cabin had everything you need. Shop was not stock well so unable to pick up any basics. Mussel Inn was the highlight for food and coastal walks are well worth it Parking between cabins was tight if you have a larger car
