Churchwood Valley Holiday Cabins

A6 Holiday Cabin (2 Twin Rooms & Double Sofa Bed)

Lodge
2 Bedrooms
Sleeps 6
Max 2 pets
From £76 per night

Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.

Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.

There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.

This A6 Holiday cabin accommodates up to six people in two twin bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the lounge. It also has a bathroom with bath and shower/shower only. This unit has a modern kitchen with a good sized fridge-freezer and microwave. A TV and DVD player are provided to add some cosy entertainment to your stay. Providing high levels of affordable comfort, this cabin is located in a popular part of the site, and has a secluded patio with views across the valley.

A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.

If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.

There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

Beautiful place surrounded by nature and only a short walk to the beach. The cabin was clean and cosy with really comfy beds. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist who told us a bit about the area.

Lovely stay in a wonderful surrounding

We were warmly welcomed with all necessary information. The cabin is accessible by car but the road is quite narrow. Each cabin has a private parking. You have everything you need in the cabin- but remember it's only a cabin no luxourious appartment. We loved the view and the „ nature sounds“. The beach is only a few minutes away, so is the costal footpath. You can watch surfer, see Dartmoorponies, and quite some animals in the wood that surrounds the cabin. The café in the old mill is lovely, the coffee good. There are many things you can do… Plymouth, Dartmoor, Exeter are not that far away. The people were very friendly. We loved our holidays in Churchwood Valley and would recommend!

Peace and quiet

My visits span 62 years. Husband loves it as well. No frills so it wouldn't suit everyone. But if you like peace and quiet, walking, wildlife and the sea it's perfect. I love sea swimming. Beach is safe. Lovely coastal walks. Near to Plymouth and several National Trust properties. Lots of places to visit. Each chalet is private and has all the essentials. The Foxhound Inn in Brixton is our favoured place to eat. Privately owned for many years. Excellent food. We even go there for Christmas day lunch in conjunction with staying at Churchwood. Stansell family always try to accommodate your needs. Wembury feels like home

Stunning location.

We booked to stay at Churchwood Valley for the weekend as we were taking our Son to Plymouth University. The cabin was immaculate and well equipped with beds already made. As it was dark when we arrived we didn't notice how beautiful this place was till the morning. We walked the short walk to Wembury beach through a beautiful Valley with streams and fell in love with the place. I was sad we couldn't have stayed longer but I'm hoping to return in October half term, and book my younger children into the forest school for a day as that looks so good too.

Nice quiet place

We have stayed at Churchwood many times and it is very nice. Very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. I know the surrounding areas well as I used to live there. It’s beautiful, but very hilly. As we are getting older I’m not sure we can do the hills anymore.Roads around the site very narrow and you just hope you don’t meet a car coming the other way. The cabins were fine. Just one small thing, we thought the tv was too small and too high.

Idyllic spot for a relaxing holiday

Have been coming off and on for 20 years. Site very well maintained, cabins always spotless and if a problem arises the staff are immediately on hand to deal with it. The beach too is lovely, access a little difficult for the not so nimble and certainly not suitable for wheelchairs. A lovely beach café completes The perfect location. Can’t wait for my next fix!
