Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.

Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.

There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.

This compact cabin is great for two people and comes with a twin bedroom and shower cubicle.

The cabin also comes with a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, an under-counter fridge and microwave, and a TV with DVD player. Located in the centre of the site, this A2 cabin has a peaceful and private patio and is frequently visited by wildlife on the park.

A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.

If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.

There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

Wonderful Holiday

We had a wonderful time at Churchwood Valley it was so peaceful and there was lots of wildlife to be seen around the site. Around and about there is plenty to do and see also lots of cafes and restaurants which were all very good with food and prices. There is also lots of beautiful beaches close by and one on your doorstep. The only downside was it is very hilly so not really for anyone who is disabled which is such a shame as I think a lot of disabled people would love to go somewhere like this place to just soak in the atmosphere. Great location for walking the coast path

Lovely secluded location near Wembury beach. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped and the staff in the office were efficient and welcoming. The only sound at night was the hooting of the owls. It was ideally located for walking the south west coast path from Wembury Point to Plymouth, as well as stretches further along the coast.

A small issue left by the previous tennants was quickly and without fuss resolved. The staff were all very friendly. The equipment in the cabin could do with being updated for example the TV was tiny ( though we didn't try to use it!).

the actual site roads were very difficult to walk along. too many bumps and hills for our age and hip and knee and back problems,

The actual location was different, very lovely and peaceful but not really ideal for elderly couples with walking disabilities and the gap between the twin beds, nearest the window was very narrow . We both had problems using showers as there was no room to move. The places we visited were beautiful, especially Mount Batten and Drogo Castle. The cabin itself was set in beautiful, wild surrounds with a lovely church and Wembury Beach was stunning. Value for money. Ideal for fitter people.

The site is a lovely setting and very convenient for walks and the beach. The cabins however need updating although clean and all amenities provided

Having come here a couple of years ago for a week we decided to come again for two weeks this time and it hasn't changed much, still the friendly staff, lovely environment and peaceful area. The cabin was clean, beds made and all our kitchen equipment looked new, WiFi was great.Had lots of days out walking to the coast and back through Wembury to the local pub, short drives to other coastal walks and caught the ferry to Plymouth and also Cornwall. The weather was a bonus as well.We also had some visitors saying hello, squirrels, bats and hedgehogs. Hopefully we will come back again soon.

Very quiet beautiful wooded valley

The Steff are very helpfulEverything is carefully cleaned and prepared on arrivalWould be nice to have a few more dishes cutlery etc -only 2 of everything for 2 person chalet. The beds were very comfortable. Quite hilly but So lovely to be able to walk easily to the special National Trust Wembury beach. I spent a happy afternoon trying to identify trees - (list of trees on the site would be lovely to have to see if I got them right!)

Our third visit to Churchwood Valley. A beautiful, peaceful wooded valley. Close to Wembury beach and lovely walks. Plymouth city near by and not far from Salcombe and Bigbury on Sea.Small but comfortable accommodation. Nicely equipped and very clean. Onsite staff friendly and helpful.
