We are so excited to welcome you to our lovely campsite! Nestled in the family farm; its a really charming, peaceful spot perfect for a nice relaxing break suitable for the whole family! Despite being a quiet, little hidden retreat we are right in the centre of the Cotswolds, overlooking the Windrush Valley, less than a mile from Bourton-on-the-Water known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’.

We are really quite new, so we are planting a lot and our aim is to continue to create a site with nature at its very heart, lots of trees, hedges, wildflowers and lots of encouragement for local fauna - come and see what you can spot!

We want to give all our guests a quiet and relaxing experience with us and we have designed our site to give you the best value for money, while also offering lots of options so you can make it the perfect break for you.

Here at The Wildings we have heaps of extras so you can tailor your break to suit you. Keep costs low and bring the camping supplies with you or grab our extras and glamp it up a bit.

The pods sit on 4m x 4m square so they are really big and airy, fully insulated, include lights, heating and sockets. They have a built in double bed and comfy mattress with a sheet on - tailor make it by adding extras

If you want to keep costs down, then you are welcome to take the pod as it is and bring your own beds and bedding with you as you would on a normal camping trip just without the tent. Alternatively, if you fancy spoiling yourselves, then why not let us provide comfortable beds, linen and towels that will be ready for you when you arrive. We also offer a whole host of other extras to personalise your stay, such as fire pits, cooking packs, pizza ovens etc. Take a look at our extras to find out more.

On site we have a relaxing Cook House for all our guests where there are kitchen facilities, a fridge, sofas, games, books and all sorts of other things to make your stay more comfortable. For children we have a fab little fenced off play area to keep them busy whilst you make supper or relax with a book!

The site sits on its own grounds with a designated parking area for both cars and bicycles. The pods and communal areas are fenced off from the car park so little ones can roam free.

A large group of friends and I booked much of the campsite for the weekend. I felt bad for the one extra couple who were there, but we tried to make them feel welcome in the shared facilities and not be too intimidating or domineering. I stayed in a pod, which was bare bones basic but perfectly suitable for my needs. My one complaint (and that of the rest of my party, actually) is the amount of hidden extras. The accommodation itself was on the pricier side. I can understand an extra charge for towels and bedding, but the cutlery/plate charge seemed kind of.. silly. The website made out that had we not brought our own cutlery and plates (which many of us did), we’d not be able to use anything. The members of my party who paid about £15 (I think) for these items to be left in their hut felt somewhat cheated to find that the communal kitchen area was in fact fully stocked. We’d also noted that our pod would be for four adults, at the time of booking, and it was only upon further inspection of the various website pages we discovered we’d have to pay extra for camp beds to be put in the pod (as it only came with one double bed). This seemed a bit cheeky as we’d all paid the same amount, so some of us were left feeling a bit.. disgruntled. And with a sore back. We’d also paid an extra £95 for the BBQ hut which we were refunded (when we asked) because two parties had booked the exact same size BBQs outside their pods at a tiny fraction of the cost. Again - a bit of a cheeky hidden extra, we felt. You must also be prepared to pay for extra firewood if you’re in one of the big Yurts - one couple’s little boy was left chattering in mounds of blankets that he wanted to go home because his parents had accidentally let the wood burner go out and the temperature dropped rapidly. On the whole though, the place was great for our purpose and the kids had a brilliant time in the very safe playground area. The shop was cute and we all appreciated the eco friendly touches and the beautiful greenery around the place. One additional note - it would be good to have a couple of solar lights to dot along the pathway, as it was completely pitch black at nightfall and we worried about accidentally tripping into the weaved/growing fencing!

No where near enough toilets or showers to cater for when camp is full. Need more bathrooms. Also hot water was not always working in all bathrooms. The shared space is too limited for camping with friends. There is not enough room for people to relax and hang out easily. It seems like everything is about making money. The camping is already quite expensive and then you want to charge a lot for use of a bbq hut when bbq facilities should just be included. There is no where to bbq if it rains without paying more money. Hire of chairs seems unfair- chairs should be accessible to people to use. And bedding costs are also expensive. I felt overall you were charging for too many extras when the camping cost was already expensive and not offering enough value compared to other camp sites I have stayed at

"Girls trip"

Was really nice, staff very friendly. Such a pretty campsite you can see the effort being put in to building the business. Loved that they make as many attempts as possible to be eco friendly.

"Make sure you take your own duvet and pillows!"

Mrs A Brown - Stayed with partner, Apr 2022

As we were only staying one night we didn’t opt for the Double Bed Bundle (@£38 per stay) which states -fresh crisp linen and fluffy towels for your stay, opting to take our own linen and towels with us, only to find a double bed with a bottom sheet on. No duvet or pillows as we had assumed to put our own linen on! We feel this was very misleading as it does not state anywhere that the Double Bed Bundle is all your bed. Luckily we live not far away so could go home and collect our own duvet and pillows. We also feel there should be a gate or better security onto the premises as the owners do not live on site we were the only ones there so felt a little vulnerable. Staff also left and left the kitchen area light on, heating on, door open etc which we felt wasn’t in keeping with their environmentally friendly status. On a positive note it was a small campsite with very clean toilets and shower cubicles and very near Bouton on the water which is very pretty. My husband also loved the campfire.

The only downside on booking I wasn't aware and the website didn't really make it clear that when booking for a family of 4 you don't automatically get the additional single beds included. The camp mats where not the comfiest and it did impact our stay such that we left a night early as it was not possible for us to sleep basically on the floor for two nights

Super relaxing and peaceful place, our dog loved it too, sitting by the fire with a beer and eating toasted marshmallow - bliss.

The location was perfect for us, just a 20 minute walk through beautiful countryside to get to Bourton on the water and lots to see and do. We'll definitely return.
