I have never stayed here on my own before, this was the perfect place to complete work and have the head space I needed. When I arrived, it was dark, raining and the site office should have been closed... Debbie and Simon stayed on to make sure I arrived ok and settled, over and above, this is standard of the service recieved over the years ive been here. The site itself is so lovely, the amenties from the shower blocks to the cafe by the lake are all well maintained, clean and accessible. All staff are friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. This was my first time staying in Glebe Lodge, it was prefect, the view accross the lake especially with sunrise/sunnset was so tranquil and pretty. A quiet retreat in great surroundings, I dont fish but on previous stays when my family have fished, they all enjoy and comment on how happy they are with the lakes. The local area is great for exploring with plenty to do and well positioned for getting out and about to explore.

This was our third visit to summer ponds, We stayed in one of their lodges, which was very clean and had all the facilities you need for a luxury stay, very comfortable and great value for money, the only thing was the cafe/restaurant closed at 5 which didn’t give you much time to eat on site if you wanted to, but there’s many eateries close by if you choose too, the staff are very friendly and their response time to any query’s are very efficient. We had a great time!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful lodge, terrible fishing

We stayed in Grebe Lodge for 7 nights. The lodge was beautiful and the staff on the park were helpful and friendly.sumners Lake is described as a specimen lake for the experienced angler. It isn’t at all. The swims are too small and too close together - there are 4 lodges on the lake but also around 3 or 4 pods and about 10 touring pitches. You are too tight in and have no room to fish. Too many lines in the water put the fish off coming round the lodge side of the lake. We had 1 carp in 7 days. Really really disappointing and everyone on the lake said the same. One person we spoke to said it’s been like that for at least 7 years and there are hardly any carp in there. Avoid avoid avoid if you are a carp angler.

Second time we stayed stayed different lodges each time. booked for next year already. Unsure why the internet was so poor this year. Couldn’t receive call or text at time. Probably good thing as my husband would say. Could walk off site to lovely local store with fresh deli counter. Walk ever day round fishing lake find something different to see loads friendly people. Walked down to see feed cows sheep. Popped over to bar on site spot lunch and drinks. Food very fresh well well presented value for money. Or even slice cake tea/coffee. Loving food truck in the evening. For when you don’t wish to cook but want to eat bit later in the evening. Fantastic time 100 percent recommend

Stayed in Grebe Lodge which was generally comfortable although the bed was not. Amenities were good however would have appreciated a bath mat as we are elderly and not as agile as we once were. The lodge was clean and well insulated. The fishing from the platform was good with the best caught a carp of 12lb and a nice sized bream. The village shop was good and had what we needed. The cafe was good but expensive (a sign of the times). Generally a good holiday.
