Churchwood Valley is a beautiful, natural wooded valley running down to the sea at Wembury Bay in South Devon, near Plymouth. Look closely and, hidden among the lush green foliage, you’ll see wooden cabins nestling on the hillside.
Each holiday cabin has its own plot on the hillside, surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, hedges and rustic fences. All our cabins have views across the valley, with some looking out over the water meadow or towards the sea.
There’s a car parking space near each cabin and private roads and paths give access to the beach, an unspoiled stretch of rock pools and shingle with sand at low tide. Adjoining National Trust land, the beach is no more than a 10-minute stroll away from any of the cabins.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin for a small charge, there are dog exercise areas on site and plenty of space for canine roaming locally.
This compact cabin is great for two people and comes with a double bedroom and shower cubicle.
The cabin also comes with a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, an under-counter fridge and microwave, and a TV with DVD player. Located in the centre of the site, this A2 cabin has a peaceful and private patio and is frequently visited by wildlife on the park.
A haven of peace within an environmental paradise, Churchwood Valley is a few minutes’ walk from a safe family beach and the South West Coast Path.
If ‘getting away from it all’ is the most important part of your holiday – Churchwood Valley is for you. Each holiday cabin is nestled within the woodland. By moving no further than your armchair, you’ll see delightful displays of birdlife, and a trip to your private patio may well afford a glimpse of badgers, foxes, squirrels, and other wildlife.
There are no discos, bars, or cafes – just rock pools, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery. Secluded it may be, isolated it is not. Churchwood’s licensed shop sells a wide range of food and drink, beach toys, gifts, and many other products, so you don’t even need to leave the site for those ‘essential’ items. We also have a fully equipped launderette. If you feel the need for a more extensive shop, or have a taste for the bright lights, the city of Plymouth is just a 20 minute drive away.

As if the lovely park, the friendly stuff, the nature around that alone would be enough, Churchwood valley provides a very close-to-nature experience which we used for a couple of days of downtime - where we enjoyed the local pubs and hiking trails.

We love Churchwood, this was our 11th visit. If you love wildlife, walking and a quiet place to unwind for a few days, you can't beat it.

It was a stop over stay for a wedding in the region so no time to explore local facilities/amenities in detail. However the cabin and the surroundings were excellent. Quiet, secluded and tranquil location in nature. Enjoyed the greenery and sounds of nature. The cabin was clean with fabulous furnishings especially comfortable bedding - getting to sleep was not a struggle. Staff when we finally met them on check out day were excellent and helpful - returned our prosecco which we had forgotten in the fridge - thank you. Will definitely return for more exploration and experience of all amenities and facilities.

This was our second visit. We love it here. It's so peaceful (if you don't mind birds 😃) the cabin is so cozy and has everything you need. The only thing I would suggest taking is a sharp knife and salt and pepper 😁. So close to the beautiful beach and plenty of coastal walks. Lovely pub nearby. Highly recommend

A quiet and peaceful stay, ideally situated for some nostalgic visits to our old haunts in & around Plymouth. Great to sit on Wembury Beach & watch the sun go down behind the Mew Stone.

We just spent a week (Monday-Friday) at Churchwood and we have been recommending it to all our friends and family. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was extremely clean, the staff were friendly, and it was excellent value for money. This is the second time we have stayed here in recent years - my husband stayed here as a child with his parents when they were looking for somewhere to live in the Wembury area - it brought back very pleasant memories for him!

We enjoyed a wonderful week of sunshine and rest. We have visited many times before but each visit to our cabin surprises us yet again with its immaculate cleanliness and the attention given to detail. The cabins have everything that we need for a good holiday. The owners are friendly and extremely helpful. The well stocked shop and the Old Mill Cafe catered for our food requirements. A celebratory meal at the nearby Odd Wheel was excellent. We first visited Churchwood Valley 64 years ago when we were on honeymoon. It is a beautiful place and a joy to revisit. We returned home feeling completely rested and refreshed. You did us good! A BIG THANK-YOU to all the staff.

Once again, the lovely people at Churchwood welcomed me back with big smiles, good humour and kind gestures. My stay was perfect, and it seems to get better with each and every stay. Loved the refreshed A2 cabin, all the upgrades throughout the park, and all while keeping the soul of the place intact, the protection of flora & fauna, and how I remember it all as a child. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Churchwood peeps!
