Description

Set in an elevated position in a scenic area just outside Keswick, Castlerigg Hall enjoys exceptional panoramic views of Derwentwater & Bassenthwaite Lake set against a dramatic backdrop of the surrounding fells.

Be different – be one of the first at Castlerigg to stay in a Pod! What is it?

Well, its a small timber hut with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable french doors which, together with a small high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is a electric socket, lighting and a Heater. All in all, it’s a brilliant substitute for a tent!

Pod brilliant but could have done with a bit more furnishing e.g. a couple of chairs and a small table

Mrs Gibbins - Stayed with partner, Jun 2017

Wow! Boy o boy was this relaxing, no noise at all was the biggy with us, totally chilled out in one of the pods. The cleanest facilities I have ever experienced, a well stocked friendly shop and the food at Jiggers was amazing.

"Delighted with our pod"

This was my first time in a camping pod and I loved it. The pods have an amazing view of the Lake and mountains so really feel like you're in the wilderness but with all your creature comforts ( e.g. Socket to charge your phone and boil a travel kettle, a heater, lights and even wifi). It was really easy to get to by car and had easy access to Keswick (25 minute walk). Best of all, when the weather turned nasty, our pod kept us warm and dry. We will definitely be looking to return in the near future.

"A lovely chilled weekend."

Miss Adie - Stayed with partner, May 2017

I recently stayed here with my partner in one of your lovely camping pods for two nights. We loved the views and enjoyed the walk in to Keswick which was about 25-30 mins. We were recommended this place by my partners family, and I'm pleased they did. Looking forward... I recently stayed here with my partner in one of your lovely camping pods for two nights. "Great place"

Mrs Goulding - Stayed Apr 2017

Excellent facilities, and very helpful staff. The view from pods on the website is deceptive as there is a large telecomms mast between the pods and the lakes. The dog exercise areas were not well secured or maintained. Everything else about the site was excellent,... Excellent facilities, and very helpful staff. "Camping Pod"

Mrs Heavisides - Stayed with partner, Nov 2016

Thoroughly recommended as a beginning or end of year alternative to camping. Lighting, heating and plug sockets made our camping trip in November comfortable and warm.
