Wild Boar Wood Campsite part of Pegs and Pitches Camping, two beautiful woodland campsites in Sussex. The campsite is a small eco-friendly site located right at the heart of a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within High Weald, Sussex. It’s in a semi-ancient woodland, which is itself within a broad field offering ‘wild glamping’ within nine fully equipped Bell Tents.
A campsite geared for guests who are looking for some peace and quiet, in a natural setting. Wild Boar Wood glampsite is a small-scale site with a 'low noise' policy at night. The only loud noises campers are likely to hear are the rumbles and whistles of the Bluebell Railway steam trains which pass the border of Wild Boar Wood campsite.
Each Bell Tent comes suitably equipped complete with everything needed for a comfortable but back to nature glamping holiday. A shared clearing within the campsite heart provides guests with an area to get together, cook, tell stories and relax. Other facilities include a covered washing up area, bucket showers made from reclaimed timber and heated by an eco-friendly wood-burning stove.
The focus of Wild Boar Wood campsite is most definitely one of eco-friendly glamping. The site has been created to be as green as possible and created as part of a woodland program with the assistance of an experienced forester. Guests are asked to use the firewood provided, on the basis that fallen dead wood provides a home for many of the smaller woodland creatures, and campers are encouraged to recycle wherever possible. At the same time, the facilities provided are superb, offering everything needed to ‘wild glamp’ in the beautiful countryside of the High Weald.
