Waterside House is a beautifully situated family run Lake District campsite situated on the northern shores of Ullswater in the Lake District. Our Glamping Pods look directly out on to Lake Ullswater and have amazing views of the surrounding fells. Just bring everything except your tent!!
Our camping pods are like an upside-down boat, clad with a wraparound roof, all very well insulated with sheep’s wool in the walls, and with a special foil layer under the tiles to help keep summer temperatures in check. There’s good head height and plenty of light from the double-glazed lockable French doors which, together with a smaller high rear window, provide a good through draft. Also provided is an electric and USB socket, and lighting, as well as a heater and outside BBQ pad, exterior lights and decking area. Check in is 3pm and we ask you to leave your pod on the day of departure by 11am
Waterside Farm is perfectly positioned at the foot of Barton Fell, it is an ideal base for mountain biking, walking, sailing, fishing, and pony trekking or simply relaxing. The pretty village of Pooley Bridge is one mile from the campsite and can be easily reached by road or the lakeshore footpath. Here you will find local shops and cafes as well as inns serving excellent bar food and traditional real ales.

Within walking distance to the village, with a local pub, serving good food. Will definitely visit again.

It offers fantastic views of the lake and surrounding hills, and there are several great walks on your doorstep. Very popular in the school holidays, but we tend to avoid these times for a more relaxing quieter time, We will definitely be going again !

What a spot to camp. Just wonderful. Super hosts and excellent facilities. We stayed during a heatwave in July and a hurricane in September and had a fantastic time both weeks. Thankyou xx Zara

We decided to visit the Lake District, after a google search I found Ullswater Waterside campsite. This place is beautiful, we were thoroughly pleased with the site and location. Camping was easy here, I do recommend staying here plus there are about 4 pubs a 15 min walk away. Its a lovely quiet campsite and everyone is super friendly. Will definitely camp here again.

The pod was clean with lots of electric points but not allowed to cook inside ( we took a two ring electric cooker and an electric kettle (we didn't take any gas equipment which We understand is dangerous to use inside). I think the pods could do with a few shelves, a drop leaf table and maybe a long rail to hang clothes on.
