Midleydown is a great family retreat, set on a 260 acre farm in the heart of Devon, just a few miles from the popular market town of Honiton and close to the Blackdown Hills area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is home to three stunning super-sized safari tents in a spacious meadow, Cider Press, Wagon Linney and Hayloft. There is a wonderful rural view from each large veranda.
Inside the tents are very welcoming, luxurious and comfortable, they have cleverly wired in lighting and a wired in hairdryer, but NO SOCKETS!- however USB sockets have been provided for charging your devices.
Each tent has an open plan living room complete with a sofa, dining table, a well equipped kitchen area including a two-ring electric hob and a fridge freezer, and a comfy king size bed in a shed!
There is also a wood fired range, which doubles up as a cooking and heating appliance (logs are provided). The Bedroom areas, shower room and cloakroom have the added bonus of central heating.
Beyond the living area are the two bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with a king-size hand made 4 poster bed, both with thick sprung mattresses and lots of storage in the form of quirky apple crates.
In true luxury glamping style there is a shower room (with 5 foot walk-in shower) and a further wash room at the back of the tent, both, of course with a wash basin, flushing loo, hot and cold running water and heated towel rails.
Outside is just as special as inside, the veranda has lovely furniture with comfy cushions, great for enjoying the view and jyst down the steps onto the decking is the fabulous electric hot-tub. The huge meadow stretches out in front of the tent, where the children can run around, play in the play area or have a game of football and there is a private picnic table and gas BBQ for al fresco cooking and dining.
If you fancy exploring the local area, there is plenty to see and do nearby. The small village of Plymtree is a short half a mile stroll, where you can try out The Blacksmith's Arms and the community run village shop which has all the basic supplies you will need.
The cathedral city of Exeter is just a 30 minute drive and it is very easy to reach the stunning jurassic coast.
The market town of honiton is within and easy drive, as is The National Trust, Killerton,
Local attractions include, The Bear Trail, Quad World, Escot Park, Crealy, The world of Country Life and Seaton Jurassic.
