"Timber Tent"

Mrs S Skipsey - Stayed with friends, Aug 2018

We stayed in the 4 bed Timber Tent for a night after a day at Alton Towers. Great value for money, but no phone signal or WiFi (on the one hand this was great, in the other a bit scary!)

"3rd Time here"

Miss J McEwan - Stayed with family, Aug 2018

We have previously stayed in The Fox lodge before, we decided to try the Wooden Tent this time and we loved it. The beds need a bit more padding but apart from that it's perfect for what we needed. We will definately return....cant wait to try the new tents next year!

"One night stay for Alton towers"

Mrs K Wilson - Stayed with family, Jul 2018

Stayed in the family glamping pod for one night, so we could extend an Alton towers trip by an extra day. Superbe facilities, excellent price, close to Alton towers, timber tent has everything you need for a short stay.

Stayed here overnight after a visit to Alton Towers which is only a 15 minute drive away. Basic accommodation but value for money. Very friendly and helpful member of staff welcomed us to the site.

Stayed here the night before a family trip to Alton Towers and CBeebies land. Myself, my husband and two children aged 3 and 6. Our two children were in their element with the little wooden house and picnic table, especially as they had little bunk beds! They also loved the timber play park. Check in was simple, as was checking out. Be aware that the shop and reception doesn’t officially open until 9. We should’ve warned them the night before of our early departure! Showers and toilets were spotless! My only ‘complaint’ is that the pull out futon bed in our bed was extremely thin, and as such our nights sleep wasn’t the best really. An investment in to a thicker pull out bed/sofa would, I think, be a fruitful one! We would definitely stay here again :-)

"Family Trip"

Mr S Nuttall - Stayed with family, Aug 2017

We stayed in the timber tent for a night as we had Alton Towers tickets the following day. Just like camping, which we like, so we were satisfied with the cabin. Nice scenery around.

We stayed as a family of 4 in the timber tent, 2 adults, 9 year old and 3 year old. Had everything it said it would, beds, kettle and toaster, however extremely basic and the futon was very uncomfortable to sleep on. We were lucky with the weather so spent a lot of time outside of the timber tent, had a BBQ for dinner and sat outside to eat both in the evening and in the morning. If it had been raining I don't think I would have enjoyed the experience at all as there wasn't really room to eat inside. Wash facilities were satisfactory. The showers and toilets could have been cleaner but were ok. Overall we enjoyed our stay but think more so because we had such good weather.

We spent the day at Alton Towers and then heading to Quarry Walk in the afternoon, which took no time at all to get to. Check in was friendly and simple and we soon settled in to our new surroundings. We bought a disposable BBQ from reception (little shop with basic supplies) and then headed 5 minutes down the road to get food from ASDA. We had the whole field to ourselves so it was really peaceful. The accommodation is basic but easier than putting up a tent and we had a good nights sleep. I would say the the only downside was the futon mattress isn't comfortable and we would take our blow up mattress to go on top next time. W/C facilities were not far from the accommodation and were very clean. The children's play area was brilliant for our little girl and we enjoyed the walk around the top of the quarry. There's a great pub just down the way, Alton Bridge Inn, which did good food and drink. We enjoyed sitting next to the river whilst the children played football on the grass outside the Inn. All in all we could not fault our stay at Quarry Walk. We would love to come back again and will be recommending to friends.
