The Secret Campsite (Lewes) is one of The Secret Campsites, a collection of Real Camping and Wild Glamping sites focused on nature, peace and space.

It is a peaceful campsite for nature lovers and their families, who are looking to go glamping in Sussex, Brighton or Lewes. Our camping meadow is kept car and dog free to allow children to roam and explore safely. We provide trolleys to transport your belongings to The Secret Shelters, which are just a couple of minutes from the car park and have a quiet time after 10 pm to allow for the sounds of wildlife to fill the site.

We offer a secluded location in a beautiful setting with great access to cycling, walking and exploring the South Downs. It is a perfect base to explore Sussex and visit local beaches, historical houses and gardens and enjoy the vibrant and historic town of Lewes.

The Tree Tent featured in George Clarkes Amazing Spaces and has been lovingly created by Brighton based designer Jason Thawley. It is the ideal accommodation for wild glamping in South East England for families and friends alike and to stay in a one of kind treehouse in Sussex.

Access to the Tree Tent is via wooden stairs, and the tent is suspended between 3 sturdy oak trees on the edge of the ancient woodland that surrounds the camping meadow. From the two windows in the Tree Tent there are fantastic views across the campsite and on to the South Downs National Park. Inside you will find three single beds with mattresses (please bring your own bedding/sleeping bags) enabling you to relax and take in the canopy view, whilst gently moving with the sway of the trees. The Tree Tent has its own grass pitch where you can enjoy a campfire at your exclusive fire pit. The Tree Tent is designed to sleep 2 adults but can also accommodate a child on the third bed.

We will provide basic equipment such as a camping stove, a kettle, mugs, plates and cutlery for your trip. There are free hot showers and toilets at the campsite.

You will need to bring your own bedding and towels. You also need to bring any food you will need. Please note that you can’t cook inside the Tree Tent, so you should bring along any cooking shelter that you require such as a small tent or a gazebo.
