Our new Off Grid glamping pod, is the perfect place to stay on our working farm. The stunning views that reach as far as 70 miles & the beautiful sunsets are just a handful of things that make Acklam Farm Stays a totally unique place to visit. With York, Whitby, The North York Moors, Howsham Mill and the coast all close by, there's plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and wild swimming if you desire! Local pubs serving food are situated in the surrounding villages.

Sleeping up to four, our cosy Romans Rest glamping pod offers a double bed with a double bunk above as well as a spare futon if one person does not want to share the double bunk beds. With thermal insulation and fibreglass finish we have no doubt you'll be warm enough. You can ventilate the pod by opening the window and door, but even if you shut the door you'll still get the beautiful views as it has a glass front. Robust for all weather types, this pod won't be going anywhere and we guarantee you'll be bone dry inside. With a big solar panel on the roof, there's ample internal LED lighting. You can soon shut out the outdoor light with the blinds and curtains, with the tranquillity of the countryside, we're sure you'll have a good nights sleep. Bed sheets and pillows are provided but you'll need to bring your own sleeping bag and towels. For cooking, there's plenty of options and it's all in the great outdoors! The pod comes with a trunk full of all cooking utensils: gas stove, pans, kettle, crockery, cutlery, lighters, tea towels, tea & coffees & milk sachets, bottle opener, firelighters, torch and plenty of spare gas for the gas stove. So you won't be short of equipment. Outside there's a gas BBQ to rent for £6 a day. There's also your own fire pit to use for the late night marshmallows. We sell logs at £8 a bag. If BBQ or gas stove cooking doesn't tickle your fancy, head to the many local pubs around. In the wood, there's a sink for all your washing up needs so you'll always be prepared for every meal. Immediately outside of the glamping pod, there is a tap for your water supply and just up about 12 metres away, there is a compost loo which is also shared by other glampers- (odour free btw!). There is also an off grid shower in the woods - also used by other glampers. The shower water is heated to the same level as a normal domestic shower, meaning you can comfortably wash in the shower. As we're a working farm, you'll see sheep, cattle & our working border collies Meg, Bran & Bess.
