The Nook is perfect for couples or families, it can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children. A beautiful shepherd’s hut nestled in a sunny corner of the field. A small and cosy space, simple but beautiful. It is both private and peaceful with its own outside space.

Lovingly handcrafted with natural wooden floors, with a wood burner to keep you toasty warm, a comfortable double bed with duvet and linen provided and fairy lights to add that sparkle. There are 2 bench beds suitable for children (no bedding for children provided, please bring sleeping bags).Outside there is a lovely covered kitchen, eating area and fire pit to cook on with your own Dutch oven, BBQ grill, frying pan, cutlery and plates. Enjoy a good book in the hammock or just sit and admire the views where you can truly switch off and relax, while the children discover the path running down to the stream.

The Nook has its own private hot shower with biodegradable ‘Faith by Nature’ toiletries and wee-shack (wees only). Flushing toilets are a short walk from the hut which are shared with other campers.

The campsite is electricity free and does not have much lighting at night, so torches are essential. Each hut has its own USB points are lit up at night by fairy lights.

"Absolutely brilliant"

It had everything we needed for a camping break and our two year old couldn’t have been happier. It was just what we needed after this rubbish year, time out in the country to hit reset. The facilities were clean and tidy, Alex was very helpful and friendly. The Shepherd Hut gave us a great glamping trip, going back to basics by cooking our dinner on the fire (and marshmallows) but still giving us a comfortable bed to sleep in. Oh and of course the great wood burner in there to keep us warm. Our son loved waking up to see the animals in the morning. We will certainly be going back again!

"Great place to stay!"

Mrs E Wahlen - Stayed with family, Sep 2020

I love being outdoors but hate camping- staying in one of the shepherd’s huts was a great compromise. They are really cozy and very well thought through - including a warm shower and outside toilet. Strawfields is a super, laid back space- a great place to enjoy... I love being outdoors but hate camping- staying in one of the shepherd’s huts was a great compromise. Children loved meeting the llamas, ponies and other animals and are still talking about them! Really friendly and helpful owners and a beautiful situation. The hammock and campfire seating were lovely and its location so close to beaches is great. Unfortunately we visited in torrential rain and galeforce winds so didn't experience it at its very best but would love to come back in slightly more clement weather!

"Great peaceful stay"

We enjoyed sitting out in front of the campfire or laying in the hammock. Sheperds hut cozy and fine for 4, children are 11 and 15, bed was a little snug for the oldest, so consider bringing a small tent if you have larger children. The solar powered fairy lights and 4 usb charging ports were surprisingly effective and we had good 4 G signal, but bring a torch as it is an electricity free site. We used the flushing toilet block too, clean and easy to use. The play barn was a little dirty (a swallow had decided to nest over the pool table) but children enjoyed being able to play pool and table tennis. Visiting the animals was also a hit. Sadly the other play equipment and the trampolines were out of bounds due to Covid, but good reminders about Covid up in public areas and hand sanitizer available. Check in a little confusing, turns out you just turn up and move in, check out easy as you just do the same in reverse. Due to Covid check out was a 9. The small road running past the site is used as a rat run, busy with fast cars, so dont try to walk or run on it. We enjoyed the surrounding areas, beaches, pubs and towns and will definitely be back.
