"A wholesome weekend"

I stayed at Sumners in the Safari Tent with my two sons, aged 8 and 9, for 3 nights in February; despite storm Dennis deciding to show itself, we had a great time, involving some fishing, camping (more like glamping!), and walking. A lovely spot to spend some time at, and we were particularly surprised at how good the food at the café was - it also became a much needed warm haven for us during strong winds and rain which as far as my boys were concerned, simply added to the 'thrill factor'! We look forward to coming again. It was also great to be able to use a shower/toilet block which was well maintained and clean!

Always stay in the safari tent because of location on the lake and all it offers. Wonderful place to relax and unwind and all the other lakes are close by with great fishing.

Camping feeling, but with mains electric, fridge, double bed, log burner and lots of space. Beautiful view over the lake with no intrusive buildings or motorhomes spoiling it. Clean, convenient washing facilities nearby. Entertaining waterfowl, bats and other wildlife all around. Pleasant woods and lakes to stroll around. Eggs on toast available at the cafe for breakfast. Peace and quiet in the evenings. Partner caught plenty of middlesized fish in Farm Pond every day and a couple of goodsized carp out of Sumner on the last night to round it all off. We felt no need to leave the site as the weather was perfect and we were only there for four days. Very relaxing, we will be back.

Stayed in the safari tent as always and not disappointed even though the weather was horrid it didn’t make any difference with the covered deck and fishing deck. Cozy with the log burner and great fun, good time had by all

"lovely for relaxing and fishing"

Miss L Macdonald - Stayed with partner, May 2019

The safari tent is such a beautiful accommodation, especially for fishing and relaxing on the decking. However it gets very very cold at night so I would not recommend going in other seasons then spring/summer maybe early autumn. Definitely planning to stay again but... However it gets very very cold at night so I would not recommend going in other seasons then spring/summer maybe early autumn. Definitely planning to stay again but maybe more in summer time. Young children would not suit the cold nights too. Overall a lovely place to be! Staff are very helpful and friendly too (:
