Swallow is one of our five luxury handcrafted glamping pods and takes its name from these migrating birds that are annual visitors to the River Otter and can be seen swooping between the river banks, as you walk along the river edge.
Swallow has been decorated and dressed to reflect the colours of these beautiful birds and the waters that they inhabit. The soft blues, cream and soft grey colour scheme will provide you with a calming retreat during your stay.
Built in our own workshop, to the highest quality, with great care and attention to detail, Swallow incorporates everything you need for a most comfortable & restorative break.
The covered porch with stable door opens to the main living space with kitchen, dining area, snug sofa, wardrobe and double bed. Beyond an oak door is the ensuite shower room, with shower, basin, toilet, mirror & fitted hairdryer. The kitchen has all the equipment you will need, including kettle, toaster, double induction hob, fridge (& icebox) & microwave. All pans, crockery, cutlery, utensils and tea towels are also here for your use.
Our complimentary Welcome Trug will be waiting for your arrival with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and some biscuits to revive you after your journey, so just put the kettle on and relax!
Bed linen & towels are included too.
Swallow is fully insulated to keep you snug in winter and cool in the summer. If you are a little chilly, there is a fitted electric radiator to keep you cosy.
You can just disconnect or there is free WiFi to stream a movie or post your holiday snaps.
Outside you have your own picnic table & benches, with a BBQ if you want to dine alfresco. You can remain in your own Pod’s enclosure, or take a wander around the Park through the garden, with 2 fire pits and wild flower meadow.
The village of Tipton St John is a 10 minute walk straight from the Park, where you will find the village shop and pub. The Golden Lion pub is well known for its locally caught fish and seafood dishes and on Tuesday nights offers take away fish & chips, so why not collect your supper, sit by the river and watch the world go by.
The Coleridge Link and East Devon Way footpath routes can also be accessed straight from the Park, with many beautiful walks through the glorious East Devon countryside. You can also walk straight along the river to the town of Ottery St Mary with its many independent shops, pubs and coffee shops.
There are great cycle routes too, so why not bring your bike?
