At the heart of picturesque Upper Wharfedale, not far from the source of the river, our working farm in the village of Buckden is owned by the National Trust and offers dog friendly glamping in the Yorkshire Dales.

Within a short distance of stunning walks to take your breath away, here at Buckden glamping, we promise you fresh air and fun. Waterfalls, limestone wonders, secluded ghylls are also on hand along with a host of tourist attractions to visit within easy driving distance, so there is always plenty to see and do.

No more flapping guy ropes and crawling under wet canvas, this is Yorkshire glamping! Just bring what you’d normally bring for camping – except the tent. Cook outside and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the decking while you admire the fabulous view and enjoy the glory of the dale around you.

Our furnished family glamping pod has a kettle with access to a fridge and freezer and comes with outside decking. Simply bunk down as you would in a tent – without having to put it up!

All of our pods have a mattress covered seating area, which folds down to make a sleeping platform. Sleeps up to two adults and two children comfortably. (You could always bring a camp bed to squeeze a third little one in)

We are a dog friendly glampsite in the Yorkshire area so up to two dogs are allowed in pods but please keep them off the mattress covered seating area.

On the meadow site for pods, toilets, a shower and pot-wash facility are available for your use.

The wardens were so lovely and helpful and helped to make our stay a good one. We only had one night but felt that everything had been very well thought out. It's a small campsite so no on site playpark or clubhouse, however the pub is a two minute walk. This made the campsite the lovely, peaceful haven that it is. The facilities were of a fabulous quality and very clean. It was the little touches that impressed me, the bucket of fishing nets for children to borrow and explore the river, the games equipment to borrow (access to a games field provided), the excellent list of facilities in the area and the boredom box (we didn't get to look in but what a lovely thought). We were in a pod which was lovely, however the mattress was rock hard. Such a shame as the rest of the stay was five 🌟, we'll bring a mattress topper next time! Will definitely return.

"Small, friendly and welcoming"

Miss J Leiper - Stayed with family, Aug 2019

Everything that could be done to welcome us was done. The pre visit email with pdf files were great. The fridge area was a little grubby, however the wash areas and toilets were absolutely fine. Thanks to Rob for pushing me out if the mud when the car had become stuck.... Everything that could be done to welcome us was done. The pre visit email with pdf files were great. The fridge area was a little grubby, however the wash areas and toilets were absolutely fine. Thanks to Rob for pushing me out if the mud when the car had become stuck. Juudging by the ground and his reaction, I'm not the first. Perfect for my young kids - the field is small and secure. Any more kids facilities would change the feel of the campsite. I liked the "quiet hours" too. Our first time camping and we've booked to come again next week. Great experience. Thank you

"Nice pods!"

Mrs J Ward - Stayed with friends, Jul 2019

I don't enjoy camping but wanted to go, so opted for a pod, which was ace. Heated, electric and cosy beds. At £50 a night it was good value too. Showers very clean, although could benefit from maybe three, instead of just two as the wait was often long. Staff nice and accommodating and perfect setting for a long walk. Were allowed into neighbouring field (owned by site owners) to play massive rounders game and fun was had by all. Kids aged from 10 to 18 and there was plenty to do - especially toasting marshmallows round the raised BBQ. Definitely go again.
