St Helens is a great location for glamping in Yorkshire. It is an attractive, established park offering a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere set in wonderful surroundings with first-class facilities.

St Helens is an ideal base from which to enjoy your North York Moors National Park glamping break with excellent on site facilities, a range of local village amenities and Scarborough, Helmsley only a few miles away.

Situated on the 3000 acre family owned Dawnay Estate, St Helens in the Park features a beautiful country park, perfect for walking and relaxing. There are even alpacas and donkeys to look at along the way. There is also a 3 acre dog run.

Our purpose built wooden pet friendly pods at this glampsite in Yorkshire offer a truly unique glamping experience. All you need to bring with you is your camping and sleeping equipment, there's no need to worry about putting your tent up and down! Glamping pods are hugely popular with children and adults alike because they’re hassle free.

Each pet friendly glamping pod sleeps up to four people and has enough space for two double sized air mattresses or camp beds.

Thanks to their fantastic insulation, the glamping pods are kept warm in the winter months and cool in the summer months with a window and locking French doors able to offer additional ventilation in hotter weather.

The pet friendly glamping pods come with an electric socket with USB ports, a mirror, a light and black out lined curtains. Onsite there is free WiFi available, free shower and toilet facilities, a shop and cafe, a children's play area, a designated field for ball games and a launderette.

The popular Wykeham Fishing and Leisure Lakes are only a short walk away from the campsite. With four fresh water lakes, it is an ideal place for trout fishing and a variety of course fishing. The Lakes are home to the largest Pike in England. The leisure lake offers a variety of different activities including stand up paddle boarding, sailing, wind surfing and kayaking.

For your convenience we have our very own bus stop right outside the Park's entrance giving easy access to nearby Scarborough and Helmsley.

St Helens glamping is in the centre of Wykeham village which offers a variety of amenities. The Downe Arms Country Inn serves bar snacks and a la carte meals should you wish to eat out and Wykeham tea rooms is only a short walk away.

"Fabulously clean toilets and showers"

Mrs S Davies - Stayed with family, Aug 2019

We stayed in a pod for two nights with friends as we were visiting the nearby Aquapark. The pods were great. The showers were the best I have experienced when camping - spacious, clean, powerful with plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful too

The site seemed full but wasn't noisy like other places we've been and it felt safe and secure for the kids to play in the park on site safely. Nice little cafe for a cooked breakfast or lunch all reasonably priced. Just a short drive or bus ride into Scarborough. Perfect 😊

Pods 7 & 8 are directly opposite the play park, so you can watch your children safely. Some lovely little hills for the kids to use their bikes on. Would be great if there was a games rooms provided for teenagers with pool, air hockey etc. Lovely friendly site, great staff and a beautiful little pub called The Downe, very welcoming. We'll definately be returning as it's 5 minutes from North Yorks Water Park and 20 minutes from Alpamare, Scarbrough.

We stayed in a camping pod which was a good choice considering the weather; rain and winds. Without doubt the dog walking fields were the best we have ever come across camping. We also walked to nearby villages which are all beautiful. We stayed local as went on to stay with family in Scarborough but plenty to do and explore walking. Our family members had children who thoroughly enjoyed the park and significant space to play. Despite poor weather we all had a great time. Would definitely recommend the camping pod for a short stay as a slightly easier option for camping with a dog and the convenience of not setting up and taking down the tent in the rain. A great time had by all, thank you to the team!

I booked a camping pod at St Helens in the park at the last minute as the weather was forecast to be better over the moors than it was over the dales where we originally planned to go. The booking process online was very easy, the reception staff were very helpful when we arrived explaining where everything was on the site and the pod we were in was clean and very well sited. The facilities on the site were excellent, always clean and not busy. There was a large dog walking area where I could let my dog off the lead for a bit. The onsite makes an wonderful streak pie and mash as well as cakes. An highly recommended site, we had a great time and I will be returning.
