St Helens is a great location for glamping in Yorkshire. It is an attractive, established park offering a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere set in wonderful surroundings with first-class facilities.

St Helens is an ideal base from which to enjoy your North York Moors National Park glamping break with excellent on site facilities, a range of local village amenities and Scarborough, Helmsley only a few miles away.

Situated on the 3000 acre family owned Dawnay Estate, St Helens in the Park features a beautiful country park, perfect for walking and relaxing. There are even alpacas and donkeys to look at along the way. There is also a 3 acre dog run.

Our purpose built wooden pet friendly pods at this glampsite in Yorkshire offer a truly unique glamping experience. All you need to bring with you is your camping and sleeping equipment, there's no need to worry about putting your tent up and down! Glamping pods are hugely popular with children and adults alike because they’re hassle free.

Each pet friendly glamping pod sleeps up to four people and has enough space for two double sized air mattresses or camp beds.

Thanks to their fantastic insulation, the glamping pods are kept warm in the winter months and cool in the summer months with a window and locking French doors able to offer additional ventilation in hotter weather.

The pet friendly glamping pods come with an electric socket with USB ports, a mirror, a light and black out lined curtains. Onsite there is free WiFi available, free shower and toilet facilities, a shop and cafe, a children's play area, a designated field for ball games and a launderette.

The popular Wykeham Fishing and Leisure Lakes are only a short walk away from the campsite. With four fresh water lakes, it is an ideal place for trout fishing and a variety of course fishing. The Lakes are home to the largest Pike in England. The leisure lake offers a variety of different activities including stand up paddle boarding, sailing, wind surfing and kayaking.

For your convenience we have our very own bus stop right outside the Park's entrance giving easy access to nearby Scarborough and Helmsley.

St Helens glamping is in the centre of Wykeham village which offers a variety of amenities. The Downe Arms Country Inn serves bar snacks and a la carte meals should you wish to eat out and Wykeham tea rooms is only a short walk away.

Myself, my partner & 2 year old had such a lovely time at St Helens! We stayed in one of the wooden huts which was a fun adventure. It was clean & smelt lovely with a heater that warmed the hut in minutes. Better than a tent 😊 The children's park is brilliant & there are some lovely little walks nearby. We loved the onsite cafe & ate very well there & tea at the Downe Arms is highly recommended. We were really impressed with the cleanliness of facilities & shower rooms/toilets were fab & catered for children well.

"First time in a camping pod"

Mr Simpson - Stayed with partner, Sep 2018

We spent 3 days in a camping pod and will defiantly be returning! The site is in a great location for all of the main east coast seaside towns. Our only grumble is that we didn’t stay longer.

The campsite is lovely & quiet, lots of regulars stay there, very friendly, and facilities immaculate. Short walk through the woods to the local pub, and near by galleries. A great place to stay, away from the hustle & bustle of Scarborough. We will be paying a visit again soon!

I really liked it the site was very clean and the facilities were great , free showers that were really nice and spacious. The pod was great the blackout curtains helped us sleep in and there was no noise it was really cosy. The site itself was beautiful with lots of walks and a pub in walking distance which was great. Every one on the site was really friendly and helpful all staff in the shop café and everywhere were absolutely lovey. I felt very safe and very relaxed. The only small negatives were:- I think the pods are quite expensive for what they are and the hand dryer in one of the toilet blocks didn't work for the whole week and two of the hot taps. However there were plenty of toilet blocks to choose from and we didn't ever have to cue up for a shower and they were spotless clean. I would also have liked a bit more variation of food in the café more vegetarian meals available and we would have used it more.
