St Helens is a great location for glamping in Yorkshire. It is an attractive, established park offering a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere set in wonderful surroundings with first-class facilities.
St Helens is an ideal base from which to enjoy your North York Moors National Park glamping break with excellent on site facilities, a range of local village amenities and Scarborough, Helmsley only a few miles away.
Situated on the 3000 acre family owned Dawnay Estate, St Helens in the Park features a beautiful country park, perfect for walking and relaxing. There are even alpacas and donkeys to look at along the way. There is also a 3 acre dog run.
Our purpose built wooden pet friendly pods at this glampsite in Yorkshire offer a truly unique glamping experience. All you need to bring with you is your camping and sleeping equipment, there's no need to worry about putting your tent up and down! Glamping pods are hugely popular with children and adults alike because they’re hassle free.
Each pet friendly glamping pod sleeps up to four people and has enough space for two double sized air mattresses or camp beds.
Thanks to their fantastic insulation, the glamping pods are kept warm in the winter months and cool in the summer months with a window and locking French doors able to offer additional ventilation in hotter weather.
The pet friendly glamping pods come with an electric socket with USB ports, a mirror, a light and black out lined curtains. Onsite there is free WiFi available, free shower and toilet facilities, a shop and cafe, a children's play area, a designated field for ball games and a launderette.
The popular Wykeham Fishing and Leisure Lakes are only a short walk away from the campsite. With four fresh water lakes, it is an ideal place for trout fishing and a variety of course fishing. The Lakes are home to the largest Pike in England. The leisure lake offers a variety of different activities including stand up paddle boarding, sailing, wind surfing and kayaking.
For your convenience we have our very own bus stop right outside the Park's entrance giving easy access to nearby Scarborough and Helmsley.
St Helens glamping is in the centre of Wykeham village which offers a variety of amenities. The Downe Arms Country Inn serves bar snacks and a la carte meals should you wish to eat out and Wykeham tea rooms is only a short walk away.

We like a quiet, clean place to use as a base and that's exactly what we got. I would go back without the dog next time and check out the water park nearby as we came for sea swimming (even in late October) and hadn't heard of the water park. Good for outdoor swimming.

Enjoyed 2 nights in a pod in october, warm and cosy and big enough for 2 king size air beds, the weather was good so managed to cook breakfast outside on a camping stove, lovely pub close by for an evening meal, facilities were extremely clean and well maintained,... We’ve been glamping a few times in different areas of the country so had an idea in mind of what the hut would include as a minimum... we expected at least a bed with a mattress and we bring our bedding. Maybe a kettle and a little side shelf or something to store our things. We found a shed with a plug and a radiator when we got there and it was a single plug with the radiator plugged into it.... luckily we managed to find a local Argos and buy a blow up bed. Granted it probably is in the small print somewhere but we just felt the word glamping was a bit misleading, there was no glamour to any of it. Having had that little moan though the park was well facilitated considering the restrictions due to COVID and I can not fault the cleanliness of the bathrooms or the shed.

We decided to have a few days away so we could go cycling and chose again St Helens, staying in one of the pods. They are clean, tidy and sufficient room for two. The pods are warm and dry which is great if the weather is not so good. My review has not included reviews... The pods are warm and dry which is great if the weather is not so good. My review has not included reviews of the site facilities as for instance, the cafe, which looks great is not open due to the Covid measures in place. The showers and toilets are great but this visit we discovered the showers furthest away from the entrance and they are much newer and therefore will be our choice from now on. Perhaps and upgrade on the shower block by the entrance when funds allow?

We were slightly confused about what could be plugged into the 16amp socket, but the USB ports were very useful Many thanks, I hope we will be back
