Originally the homes of the nomads of Central Asia the Yurts at Lough Mardal Lodge have been adapted for today and have been chosen for their high-tech insulation, warmth and durability which is required for the occasionally temperamental weather on the north west coast of Ireland! All Yurts are well-spaced ensuring seclusion and privacy. Each is luxuriously furnished with superking beds, comfortable seating areas and are individually styled with sheepskins, warm Donegal tweed woollen blankets, heavy duvets, fluffed pillows and crisp white bed linen. All have beautiful views of the surrounding bogland, lake, mountain and forest. Lie in bed staring at the stars through your clear sky dome in front of your cosy wood-burning stove or sip a wine on the veranda listening to the background hum of wildlife.

All amenities are housed in the Lodge, a unique and beautiful eco-building constructed with strawbales with a grass 'living' roof, it is the large communal and social hub for glamping guests. Its striking central lounge, the Reciprocal Room, with its exposed beams spiralling overhead is the perfect spot to relax and soak up the panoramic views of the lake, woodland and sweeping landscape. Or simply cosy-up with a hot cup of tea and a good book around the giant fireplace.
On-site activities include wild swimming in the lake, fishing, lakeshore rambles or envigorating hill-walks across 90 aces of mountainous bogland with stunning panoramic views of Donegal Bay. Nearby off-site you can go surfing or go beach horse-riding. Two of Donegal's biggest sandy beaches are on the doorstep - Rossnowlagh and Murvagh. And the picturesque towns of Donegal Town and Ballyshannon are within a 20 minute drive with plenty of shops, supermarkets, cafes and plenty of interesting sights to
