Set in the grounds of a Historic House of almost 700 years, The Hamlet at Samlesbury Hall brings a modern take on the quirky, medieval nature of the building.

We have 18 beautiful Shepherd's Huts available, each of which really operates as its own room. There is accommodation for up to four people in each hut with two memory foam mattresses in a bunk bed style layout. There are plug sockets with USB ports for low wattage electricity, alongside a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities (of course!). All of this comes with an en-suite bathroom and power shower. Bedding, towels and toiletries are all provided for your stay. All of our huts are fitted with central heating, to keep you warm in the winter months and to allow the Hamlet to open all year round! Breakfast can be added onto your stay if you wish. It will be served in the Restaurant of the Main Hall the following morning.

Book to stay in one hut or bring your family and friends and book a few, there's plenty to choose from! We allow dogs in one of our huts, so bring along your furry friends too!

Per chance you want to risk a wander around the grounds of one of the most haunted locations in Britain, you are more than welcome to! Who knows what you might spot? The Hall does offer overnight ghost hunts throughout the year so keep an eye out for events coming up. Samlesbury Hall itself is open everyday, except Saturdays and the occasional Friday when we have weddings taking place. The Hamlet, however, is open all year! The Hall is free to enter and to have a look around, with guided tours taking place on Sundays (again, all free!). Follow this with a lovely lunch in our restaurant or even treat yourself to a waffle and ice-cream in Dottie's Wafflery! During school holidays there are numerous activities taking place for children at the Hall, team this with a trip to see our mini farm of pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. Follow the woodland trail and spent hours of fun on the Mayflower Play Area! After a busy day spent at the Hall, what is better than returning to your hut for a relaxing evening around the Fire Pit.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and not just at the Hall, we are only half an hour away from Blackpool, Lancaster and Lytham if you fancy a trip out, or if you'd prefer something a bit more local we are only 5 minutes away from Brockholes Nature Reserve and the famous Preston Guild Wheel cycle route.

Interesting climbing into a top bunk at 1.00am but added to the fun. All in all good value, good nights sleep and as it was icy outside the heating kept the hut just right.

We are getting married at Samlesbury Hall next year so wanted to try out the huts in the Hamlet in order to recommend them to friends and family for them to stay in after our wedding. We were gifted a stay in the Hamlet as part of our wedding package but we were honestly both SO impressed with the hut we stayed in - we were just a couple on our own and we really appreciated that we were allocated hut 16 which was on it's own. The check in process was quick, easy and friendly. The hut itself felt really good quality, was super clean, suprisingly spacious and also warm - this was appreciated as the night we stayed there it got to minus figures but we were cosy inside!. In the morning we enjoyed a walk around the grounds and visited the Hall, and had breakfast in the Billiards Room which was delicious. We would both recommend the Hamlet to anyone visiting the Hall or local area!

Definitely recommend the Sunday lunch and Dotty's waffles...delicious! Witch Janey was again fantastic and gave a superb Halloween performance, entertaining my daughter. The only improvement I would strongly suggest, is the bottom sheet keeps coming off the mattress! I personally find this annoying, however, this certainly does not effect my recommendation in any way... Take a torch, marshmallows and enjoy!

We didn’t realise there was nearby factory or that its low thrumming would keep us up. 6 out of the 8 pillows in the room felt like they’d beeb ragged around and were unusable. The lower bunk’s base was made from MDF and thus the mattress bowed making it uncomfortable for two (notably the upper bunk, the base of which you could see was made of hard wood and didn’t bow). When were untucking the covers to get in bed we found sweet wrappers and long black hairs, so it obviously hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly.

My only criticism was the lack of information provided regarding the location and distance of the Hamlet from the Hall. It was not clear whether you needed to drive or walk. Bearing in mind it was dark and raining plus the signs and paths were not well lit. I ended up driving but due to the poor lighting had to stride over wooden fences near the car park area and then walk through dark areas of long wet grass. My wife's expensive shoes are now damaged from the ground conditions. The accommodation itself is great but getting to it was a nightmare. I would suggest a little map is handed out to guests showing the precise location of the huts/ numbers and distance if walking or driving.
