Set in the grounds of a Historic House of almost 700 years, The Hamlet at Samlesbury Hall brings a modern take on the quirky, medieval nature of the building.

We have 18 beautiful Shepherd's Huts available, each of which really operates as its own room. There is accommodation for up to four people in each hut with two memory foam mattresses in a bunk bed style layout. There are plug sockets with USB ports for low wattage electricity, alongside a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities (of course!). All of this comes with an en-suite bathroom and power shower. Bedding, towels and toiletries are all provided for your stay. All of our huts are fitted with central heating, to keep you warm in the winter months and to allow the Hamlet to open all year round! Breakfast can be added onto your stay if you wish. It will be served in the Restaurant of the Main Hall the following morning.

Book to stay in one hut or bring your family and friends and book a few, there's plenty to choose from! We allow dogs in one of our huts, so bring along your furry friends too!

Per chance you want to risk a wander around the grounds of one of the most haunted locations in Britain, you are more than welcome to! Who knows what you might spot? The Hall does offer overnight ghost hunts throughout the year so keep an eye out for events coming up. Samlesbury Hall itself is open everyday, except Saturdays and the occasional Friday when we have weddings taking place. The Hamlet, however, is open all year! The Hall is free to enter and to have a look around, with guided tours taking place on Sundays (again, all free!). Follow this with a lovely lunch in our restaurant or even treat yourself to a waffle and ice-cream in Dottie's Wafflery! During school holidays there are numerous activities taking place for children at the Hall, team this with a trip to see our mini farm of pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. Follow the woodland trail and spent hours of fun on the Mayflower Play Area! After a busy day spent at the Hall, what is better than returning to your hut for a relaxing evening around the Fire Pit.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and not just at the Hall, we are only half an hour away from Blackpool, Lancaster and Lytham if you fancy a trip out, or if you'd prefer something a bit more local we are only 5 minutes away from Brockholes Nature Reserve and the famous Preston Guild Wheel cycle route.

Very comfortable Shepherd's huts at the hamlet with everything at hand, cosy, warm and clean. The staff at Samlesbury Hall are an absolute asset, nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. Cleanliness, sanitising stations and the delivery of food was all very well organised, making us feel welcome yet safe. Food from the restaurant was excellent. I am definitely recommending the venue, the hall, the restaurant and the hamlet to friends. What a find, an absolute gem. We had a fantastic stay at Samlesbury, thank you.

If your looking for something a little different the Hamlet at Samlesbury Hall is the place for you. Sat in the grounds of a 14th Century Hall which is open to the public and well worth investigating, with its old oak beams and colourful history. The staff were efficient, kind and caring and seamed happy to go the extra mile. They have obviously spent a lot of time and effort making the facilities Covid safe and we look forward to our next visit.

I had never heard of Samlesbury Hall (despite only living half an hour away) and came across it when searching for a family weekend away. What a find! The accommodation in the shepherd’s huts is lovely, the hall and grounds are beautiful, the playground is great for kids and the whole place feels very safe and family-friendly. Dolly’s Wafflery serves huge ice creams and the restaurant offers reasonable (If not amazing) breakfasts. I could nit -pick minor details, but won’t because we had such a lovely time overall. We will definitely go back, and invite friends/family to go with us.

"Yearly blackpool trip"

S Santoro-Kirk - Stayed with family, Aug 2020

Beautiful grounds, fabulous waffles and staff at the local wafflery. Shepherds hut was beautifully presented, clean and tidy. Downfall.. our bed so so uncomfortable it dipped in, in the middle. If it wasn't for the lack of sleep we would re-book.

"First glamping experience"

The first sight of the huts was delightfully picturesque and we were not disappointed. Although I think that 4 people would be rather a squash inside the hut, it was ideal for 2 people. Although I think that 4 people would be rather a squash inside the hut, it was ideal for 2 people. It was warm, the bed was comfortable, hot water and shower facilities were excellent and the camping table and chairs were perfectly adequate. Parking is very handy too. We enjoyed our lunch in the Hall and the waffles for breakfast were delicious. All the staff we met were very friendly. The Hall is very well situated for Preston and the coast. We found the farm shop on the A59 very useful and there are plenty of local pubs around the area as well. We had a really lovely 2 day visit at Salmsbury Hall in spite of bad weather and would be very happy to return.

"Very disappointed with our stay"

Sadly we checked out early from our two night stay as we could not stand it any longer. The cabin was filthy, dust along all surfaces, stains on the floor, hair in the bed.... to top it off we had someone’s toe nails cut off all over the bathroom floor??? We felt disgusting and so left after one night! I was expecting some basic cleanliness and given the current climate this surely should be enhanced. The facilities around the cabins are basic and run down with hazards everywhere, broken gates, skippy park, could have the potential for repeat visitors- if you look at the attractions and spruce them up. A very disappointed family!
