Set in the grounds of a Historic House of almost 700 years, The Hamlet at Samlesbury Hall brings a modern take on the quirky, medieval nature of the building.

We have 18 beautiful Shepherd's Huts available, each of which really operates as its own room. There is accommodation for up to four people in each hut with two memory foam mattresses in a bunk bed style layout. There are plug sockets with USB ports for low wattage electricity, alongside a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities (of course!). All of this comes with an en-suite bathroom and power shower. Bedding, towels and toiletries are all provided for your stay. All of our huts are fitted with central heating, to keep you warm in the winter months and to allow the Hamlet to open all year round! Breakfast can be added onto your stay if you wish. It will be served in the Restaurant of the Main Hall the following morning.

Book to stay in one hut or bring your family and friends and book a few, there's plenty to choose from! We allow dogs in one of our huts, so bring along your furry friends too!

Per chance you want to risk a wander around the grounds of one of the most haunted locations in Britain, you are more than welcome to! Who knows what you might spot? The Hall does offer overnight ghost hunts throughout the year so keep an eye out for events coming up. Samlesbury Hall itself is open everyday, except Saturdays and the occasional Friday when we have weddings taking place. The Hamlet, however, is open all year! The Hall is free to enter and to have a look around, with guided tours taking place on Sundays (again, all free!). Follow this with a lovely lunch in our restaurant or even treat yourself to a waffle and ice-cream in Dottie's Wafflery! During school holidays there are numerous activities taking place for children at the Hall, team this with a trip to see our mini farm of pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. Follow the woodland trail and spent hours of fun on the Mayflower Play Area! After a busy day spent at the Hall, what is better than returning to your hut for a relaxing evening around the Fire Pit.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and not just at the Hall, we are only half an hour away from Blackpool, Lancaster and Lytham if you fancy a trip out, or if you'd prefer something a bit more local we are only 5 minutes away from Brockholes Nature Reserve and the famous Preston Guild Wheel cycle route.

"Great place but pricy"

Mr M Manwaring - Stayed with family, Aug 2019

Attended a wedding which was great. Can’t fault anything there. The only thing I found was it was a bit pricy. Apart from that a beautiful place and very clean

We had a lovely afternoon & evening at a family wedding. The venue is beautiful and the staff are really helpful & friendly. Just a couple of improvements could be made, the bar area is very small and struggled catering for a large wedding reception, also drinks are very expensive. There is no lighting when walking back to the accommodation at night, not ideal for elderly guests who might be unsteady on their feet. The Shepherds Huts are really quirky and beds really comfortable. We enjoyed our time at Samlesbury Hall.

"Quaint hut"

We stayed one night as a wedding guest and the guys were lovely. You can get four to a hut but I’d recommend booking one per couple.

The place is beautiful , shepherds hut s are amazing and comfy, I did comment the previous tenant had spilt coffee n spliced over wall,( didn’t effect stay, but a little bleach would of cleaned it) the restaurant was good valve you for money, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF OPENED LATER FOR EVENING MEALS, if you didn’t want bbq every nite, I was very disappointed there was local areas to eat, within walking distance, I would have preferfered to stay on camp, as it was so nice, one last criticism is please use fitted sheets, as they are uncomfortable th flat sheets, n hard to keep straight n tuck in, n u end up sleeping straight on matteress, but overall highly recommend the place,

We booked 2 huts (one designed for mobility restrictions which was perfect for my dad) and stayed for 2 nights. Staff were amazing, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Huts were beautifully presented, with necessities. Food was good, however, a children's menu would be good, with more choice for them as it was expensive to order adult portions, of which some was wasted. Camping style cups the hut retain a lot of heat, be careful not to burn yourself. All on site facilities were excellent, even in the rain there was plenty to do. We all had a fantastic experience and have already booked to stay again. Thank you everyone!

"Cute huts but way overpriced"

Mrs C Jago - Stayed with family, Aug 2019

We stayed in one of the shepherds huts for one night at a cost of £130. For what you get I feel this is extremely expensive. I accept that it is supposed to be quirky and something different but if you compare to staying in a hotel for one night this is not value for...
