Set in the grounds of a Historic House of almost 700 years, The Hamlet at Samlesbury Hall brings a modern take on the quirky, medieval nature of the building.

We have 18 beautiful Shepherd's Huts available, each of which really operates as its own room. There is accommodation for up to four people in each hut with two memory foam mattresses in a bunk bed style layout. There are plug sockets with USB ports for low wattage electricity, alongside a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities (of course!). All of this comes with an en-suite bathroom and power shower. Bedding, towels and toiletries are all provided for your stay. All of our huts are fitted with central heating, to keep you warm in the winter months and to allow the Hamlet to open all year round! Breakfast can be added onto your stay if you wish. It will be served in the Restaurant of the Main Hall the following morning.

Book to stay in one hut or bring your family and friends and book a few, there's plenty to choose from! We allow dogs in one of our huts, so bring along your furry friends too!

Per chance you want to risk a wander around the grounds of one of the most haunted locations in Britain, you are more than welcome to! Who knows what you might spot? The Hall does offer overnight ghost hunts throughout the year so keep an eye out for events coming up. Samlesbury Hall itself is open everyday, except Saturdays and the occasional Friday when we have weddings taking place. The Hamlet, however, is open all year! The Hall is free to enter and to have a look around, with guided tours taking place on Sundays (again, all free!). Follow this with a lovely lunch in our restaurant or even treat yourself to a waffle and ice-cream in Dottie's Wafflery! During school holidays there are numerous activities taking place for children at the Hall, team this with a trip to see our mini farm of pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. Follow the woodland trail and spent hours of fun on the Mayflower Play Area! After a busy day spent at the Hall, what is better than returning to your hut for a relaxing evening around the Fire Pit.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and not just at the Hall, we are only half an hour away from Blackpool, Lancaster and Lytham if you fancy a trip out, or if you'd prefer something a bit more local we are only 5 minutes away from Brockholes Nature Reserve and the famous Preston Guild Wheel cycle route.

The surroundings and Hall are very beautiful. Easily accessed, the cabin was warm, spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. Everyone was very helpful also.

We stayed one night only for my Daughters wedding which was happening at the hall. It was fantastic, when the celebration in the hall finished to be able to retire to our huts, light a campfire and enjoy some more family time discussing the day and enjoying a night cap. The huts were spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. I would not stay again because of cost and close proximity to our home. I do feel that £130.00 for the night is quite expensive and would get you quite a nice hotel room for the night, never mid a hut down a dark path!

The mattress sheet was too small for the mattress and every time I turned in bed it would pull away from the sides and leave a bare mattress. There was some food from previous guests on the floor of our hamlet, it could have done with a better sweep out. Apart from these things we had a really nice time at The Hamlet and thought the accommodation was great. The Bee Centre seemed a bit empty, wasn’t sure if this was a seasonal thing.

I had to rearrange dates and the reception staff sorted this with no problems. Arrived a little early so sat in the courtyard and had a couple of drinks whilst playing hook a duck :) All the staff are friendly and helpful, each one a huge smile anytime you passed them. We stayed in the shepherd huts and they are clean, warm and fully equipped. We had a lovely barbecue and drinks outside with the firepit roaring in the evening. We visited the bee centre on site and spoke to nice gentleman who was very informative and friendly. The hall itself is magnificent and the grounds are well maintained. The hall is a must see, it is quite eerie but this just adds to your experience. All in all a fantastic break away and will definitely be returning and recommending to everyone i know.

"One night stay"

D Eccleston - Stayed with partner, Sep 2019

With being invited to a wedding at the Hall, the Bride & Groom put a leaflet about the Hamlet inside the invitation, on looking around the area for a hotel, we found the Hamlet to be the best value for money, no taxis, no hassle just a one minute walk from the Hall.... "Hut review"

Laura L McMeel - Stayed with friends, Aug 2019

I think the huts are a little overpriced, especially if not being shared by large group. And are too small to be comfortably shared by two couples. Bathrooms had a lingering sewage snell
