Shepherds Hut Glamping at Sumners Ponds offers quirky and beautifully handcrafted huts, ideal for a quick stop over or a romantic glamping weekend away. Positioned slightly back from the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond in a small graveled courtyard area. The hut has a small veranda with sun loungers and a picnic table. The shepherds hut is furnished with a comfy memory foam double bed with clean white linen and cosy throws. There is a rustic table and chairs along with a wood burning stove that will keep the shepherds hut pleasantly warm even through the night.

There is a small fridge for essentials like milk and a kettle along with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There aren't any toilet and shower facilities at Bathsheba but the luxury state of the art amenity block is just a minute walk away. Breakfast at The Café by the Lake is included with your stay.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

We stayed in the Bathsheba shepherd hut which was clean and very nice. The only down side was the hut had no water or a toilet. The cafe was lovely and all the staff. It would have been nicer if they served an evening meal even though the pizza van came on site and other food vans during the week. We found our whole stay excellent and have just booked Old George for the end of September. Also dogs are welcome all over the site 😊🎣🐟🐕

Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to arriving on Monday unloading car and tripped on the chicken wire that was covering the steps and decking not very well stapled down in places.i badley injured my back so wasn't a good start I rested for Monday tried to fish Tuesday but couldn't carry on more than 2 hours due to the pain I was in. the water level was extremely low on all lakes and platforms approx 3ft above water level so found it difficult to land fish on match lake .I was disappointed any free swims on sumners pond were all reserved for members only as this is the lake I was intending to fish . the shower were always clean and tidy. the breakfast which was included in price with Sheppard hut bus nice ..was a bit disappointed that there was no evening menu on the cafe by the lake as last time we enjoyed it very much . the pain in my back wasn't getting any better so decided to leave Wednesday morning to come home see the doctor .

This was a lovely little campsite with some glamping huts, we stayed in the Bathsheba hut. The bed was comfy and the communal toilet/shower block was the best I have ever seen on a campsite, although the hot water in the showers was a bit hit and miss. The cafe by the lake served good breakfasts and coffee. My biggest annoyance was being asked to pay a £100 security charge, I don't remember reading about it in any of the emails/attachments that were sent at the time of booking or even when I called a month in advance to pay the balance. I understand the need for a security deposit but this isn't just an authorisation on the card, they take it and then refund it after the cleaning staff have confirmed the hut has been left in good condition - this amount should be an explicit term. Aside from that, some milk in the fridge was expected - everything else to make a cuppa was provided!

"Amazing"

Miss E Baker - Stayed with partner, Jun 2022

We visit Sumner ponds often. We've been camping, stayed in pods, and most recently stayed in a shepherds hut. I cannot fault this place at all, staff were very friendly and went out if their way to make sure we had the best holiday, especially Sharon and Debbie.... We visit Sumner ponds often. I cannot fault this place at all, staff were very friendly and went out if their way to make sure we had the best holiday, especially Sharon and Debbie. Toilets and other facilities were kept clean, this location gives off a very safe atmosphere and the surrounding lakes and farm are just beautiful. This is just a great place to stay and has become at least an annual thing for me and my partner.

"Return visit"

Mr R Kaminski - Stayed with partner, May 2022

We stayed for a few days in one of the shepherd huts. Up to the usual high standard. The only down is that the cafe closed at 3.00pm. Yes lockdown had a pronounced effect but moving towards normality it would have been nice to have had the cafe open in the evening.
