Shepherds Hut Glamping at Sumners Ponds offers quirky and beautifully handcrafted huts, ideal for a quick stop over or a romantic glamping weekend away. Positioned slightly back from the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond in a small graveled courtyard area. The hut has a small veranda with sun loungers and a picnic table. The shepherds hut is furnished with a comfy memory foam double bed with clean white linen and cosy throws. There is a rustic table and chairs along with a wood burning stove that will keep the shepherds hut pleasantly warm even through the night.

There is a small fridge for essentials like milk and a kettle along with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There aren't any toilet and shower facilities at Bathsheba but the luxury state of the art amenity block is just a minute walk away. Breakfast at The Café by the Lake is included with your stay.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

"Summary of our stay"

Mr Copping - Stayed with family, Aug 2019

We had another very enjoyable stay. The wash facilities are continually being checked and cleaned. The staff are helpful and friendly, especially Sharon in the cafe who goes that extra mile, such as booking us a table for breakfast as she knew we would be in at some... We had another very enjoyable stay. The wash facilities are continually being checked and cleaned. The staff are helpful and friendly, especially Sharon in the cafe who goes that extra mile, such as booking us a table for breakfast as she knew we would be in at some point. I was slightly disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the Wednesday evening. Although we didn't use it this time the Burger Barn is another new option but is only for take-away. There are always issues with the phone reception and wifi. The password in Boldwood had been changed but not amended on the info in the hut, so we had to ask several times for the correct one but got it sorted in the end. Overall it was a lovely restful stay and a fair few fish were caught as well!

"Short stay"

Miss. S Watson - Stayed with family, Jul 2019

Amazing place, friendly, helpful staff. Facilities very clean and tidy. Swims on lake could be cut back a little for casting out and made more clear and bushes/plants on some of the accommodation so can see lake better. Will be going again!

We started camping at Sumners about 5 or 6 years ago after a friend recommended it to us. So far we have only stayed when the weather was terrible, which doesn't make a good camping trip, but all of the other times it has been beautiful weather and we've had a great time. The children absolutely love the freedom to be able to run around safely, the grounds are kept beautifully and the facilities are top notch - they are always lovely and clean. We have eaten at the restaurant several times whilst camping and this time we stayed in the Shepherd's Huts - they are lovely and I would highly recommend them - we did feel a bit smug (and sorry for) the people who were camping and had to pack away wet tents on Sunday morning, when we just packed up the car and left. We only live 15 minutes away from Sumners Ponds but we always feel like we've been away on holiday. We will definitely be returning for another lovely camping trip.
