Shepherds Hut Glamping at Sumners Ponds offers quirky and beautifully handcrafted huts, ideal for a quick stop over or a romantic glamping weekend away. Positioned slightly back from the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond in a small graveled courtyard area. The hut has a small veranda with sun loungers and a picnic table. The shepherds hut is furnished with a comfy memory foam double bed with clean white linen and cosy throws. There is a rustic table and chairs along with a wood burning stove that will keep the shepherds hut pleasantly warm even through the night.
There is a small fridge for essentials like milk and a kettle along with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There aren't any toilet and shower facilities at Bathsheba but the luxury state of the art amenity block is just a minute walk away. Breakfast at The Café by the Lake is included with your stay.
Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.
The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.
Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.
When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

I was amazed how peaceful, calm, quiet and friendly the place was. We were in need of space and time. The staff were so kind and we left completely relaxed. Mouse, the cat was a joy to have around and the ducklings are in many photographs. Thank you, we will be... I was amazed how peaceful, calm, quiet and friendly the place was. First impressions friendliness of staff, very welcoming, in an excellent location for a quiet holiday retreat. The veggie breakfast was delicious, in fact the best I’ve ever had! All round a very pleasant stay. I look forward to returning soon.

Bathsheba is one of 4 shepherds huts here. It's a lovely cosy place. Quiet and peaceful. The log burner was great to keep the chill off in mid March and the little deck was great for sitting out in the morning sun. The toilets and showers were a short walk away, but very well lit in the night. We ate at the local pub, just a five minute walk into the village of Barns Green. Great food freshly cooked.😋 All in all a lovely break. Can certainly recommend. 🙂

This was our 4th or 5th stay at Sumners, we love it. Lovely staff, nothing's too much trouble. Beautiful countryside and woodland walks. Lovely staff, nothing's too much trouble. Beautiful countryside and woodland walks. We stayed in a shepherds hut, it was immaculate and even in February, with the log burner it was very cosy. Shepherds huts come with delicious full English breakfast at the friendly cafe. We have stayed in the lakeside huts, and they are wonderful but we would not stay in Boldwood or Bathsheba again as they are open and overlooked, it felt like we were in the carpark, that said we will definitely be returning to Summers in the near future.

Came last minute for the fishing mainly but was impressed with all aspects of the site. Our camper van pitch S88 wasn't the best but we booked late so could see why this was still available. Sheppard hut also booked for daughter and boyfriend was excellent.

I needed a break that was not to far to go and that I could take time for myself . I wanted to be in a quiet country location where I could come and go as I liked and have all I needed on site whatever the weather. It was all those things. I would have liked the food...
