Shepherds Hut Glamping at Sumners Ponds offers quirky and beautifully handcrafted huts, ideal for a quick stop over or a romantic glamping weekend away. Positioned slightly back from the Sumners Lake and Farm Pond in a small graveled courtyard area. The hut has a small veranda with sun loungers and a picnic table. The shepherds hut is furnished with a comfy memory foam double bed with clean white linen and cosy throws. There is a rustic table and chairs along with a wood burning stove that will keep the shepherds hut pleasantly warm even through the night.
There is a small fridge for essentials like milk and a kettle along with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There aren't any toilet and shower facilities at Bathsheba but the luxury state of the art amenity block is just a minute walk away. Breakfast at The Café by the Lake is included with your stay.
Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.
The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.
Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.
The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.
When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

I booked to stay at Sumners for two nights in their B&B Shepherds hut as a birthday treat. I received a lovely welcome, was able to check in early so I could hit the match lake for a spot of carp fishing. Accommodation was fantastic, comfortable double bed, log burner a great addition for a cosy winter stay. Included a top notch full English breakfast in the morning. On site facilities like toilets and showers were very clean and modern. Caught bundles of carp during my stay at Sumners so it turned out to be a birthday treat indeed! I highly recommend visiting, I will be back!

Another wonderful stay at Sumners ponds, this place never disappoints. A true gem in the West Sussex countryside. The accommodation and touring/camping pitches are always immaculate as are the wash facilities. The quirky cafe on the lake serves delicious food/cakes... The accommodation and touring/camping pitches are always immaculate as are the wash facilities. The quirky cafe on the lake serves delicious food/cakes beverages. With fishing lakes for all, wether you are a budding new angler or experienced, beautiful woodland walks, small play area for the kids and totally dog friendly with their own dog meadow and woodland walk. Plenty to do in and around the local area. Can not recommend enough.

One tiny point is that the kettle is not really up to it anymore and ideally should be replaced but this didn’t detract one tiny bit

We stayed in the Bathsheba shepherd hut which was clean and very nice. The only down side was the hut had no water or a toilet. The cafe was lovely and all the staff. It would have been nicer if they served an evening meal even though the pizza van came on site and other food vans during the week. We found our whole stay excellent and have just booked Old George for the end of September. Also dogs are welcome all over the site 😊🎣🐟🐕
