The Hideaway is a small, relaxed and friendly campsite ideal for treehouse glamping in Yorkshire, that's in-tune with nature and doesn't cost the Earth. The campsite is in the midst of our 110 acre farm, surrounded by trees and bounded on one side by a stream. It is off the beaten track, but only a stroll from the village of Husthwaite. We like to go the extra mile for you so when you feel like something a little different why not book yourself into our luxury treehouse?

Perched on a hillside in woodland belonging to the 14th Century medieval Baxby Manor access to Rufus’s Roost is via a raised boardwalk! Rufus’s Roost has its own entirely secluded space with uninterrupted views through the tree canopy across to the North Yorkshire Moors and the White Horse of Kilburn. Between the two turrets there is a large veranda for alfresco dining complete with a log-fired pizza oven and a log-fired hot-tub! For the cold dark winter months there is a "Den” complete with bean bags, comfy cushions, TV, games console, movies and popcorn machine, accessed via slide! Rufus’s Roost sleeps up to six people in three separate treetop bedrooms (three doubles). There is also a swish bathroom and modern kitchen dining area.

All bedding and towels are provided so you just need to bring yourselves plus food and drink! Can you imagine anything more relaxing than this hot tub glamping trip in Yorkshire?

Situated on the edge of Husthwaite village and nestled between the Yorkshire Dales and the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, Rufus’ Roost Luxury Treehouse is conveniently just 17 miles from the historic city of York.

There are endless possibilities for walking, cycling and touring when you go glamping in Yorkshire – North to the vast dramatic open landscape of the North Yorkshire Moors; West to the green valley pastures of the Yorkshire Dales, beloved of our famous local vet – James Herriot – and Bronte Country; South through the rich farmlands of the Vale of York, to the City, with its glorious Minster, Jorvik Museum and the National Rail Museum; East to the Wolds and coast – picturesque fishing villages, Whitby old town’s quaint streets, imposing cliff top Abbey and Dracula legend, plus the traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey.

From start to finish Barney, the Hideaway Chief, couldn't have been more accommodating to help us while we were planning our wedding at his wonderful eco glamping site. The level of service was outstanding, no matter what we enquired about or suggested he would help us, and we were never made to feel like we were too demanding! This was the same on the wedding weekend, he just left us to it. The site itself is immaculate and very well run, everything has been thought out well and the layout is spacious and green. The facilities are unbelievable, and the village is lovely. We can't wait to return every year for our wedding anniversary. Lots of love, The Dimmacks.

It has spectacular views from all of its windows and has everything you need provided ln the tree house. It has a games room for the kids and a wooden hot tub on the balcony with views for the adults. Would definitely recommend staying there for a rememberable and wonderful countryside experience. The sleeping arrangements are slightly different from what you have advertised. It has three double beds and a top bunk over one of the double beds.No twin beds. Please correct this on your site. All in all a brilliant and calming week for all. Sue

This place lives up to every Treehouse dream you could wish for. It has been finished and fitted to the highest of standards. Every little thing has been thought about and there's nothing it was missing at all. I stayed with my boyfriend so we didn't need much but if youre a family planning to stay then all you'll need to take is food and drink because the Treehouse literally has EVERYTHING in it. Barney the host was quickly on hand if we needed something answering. Check in and out is very straightforward. I can't wait to hopefully return with my family for another experience. Thank you for a very magical time xx
