There is a kettle to make a pot of tea on the woodburner as well as cups, plates, bowls and cutlery. All linen with the exception of towels is provided. The huts have rechargeable lanterns to provide lighting. The shower block is nearby with hot showers, toilets, laundry and washing up facilities. There is now electricity in the huts. A firepit/bbq and outdoor furniture is provided for each hut so you can enjoy the breathtaking views and surrounding woodlands and wildlife.

Situated in the heart of Wasdale, arguably Cumbria’s most majestic valley, Church Stile Holiday Park and Campsite offers visitors the most spectacular location from which to explore and enjoy the Lake District.

Nestling in an idyllic oak woodland setting on a traditional Lakeland sheep farm, the area is a haven for wildlife with stunning views to the mountains. Yet the pretty village of Nether Wasdale with its 2 wonderful country inns serving hearty meals and fine ales, is only a two minute stroll away.

Whether you wish to simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt valley or take advantage of the many opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling and kayaking or visit some of West Cumbria’s many attractions, Church Stile is your perfect location.

Things To Do while glamping in Wasdale in the Lake District

Wasdale is one of the big mountain valleys of the Lake District with the stunning scenery making a wonderful backdrop for your glamping holiday. The valley is home to England’s highest mountain (Scafell Pike), deepest lake (Wastwater) and smallest church (St Olaf’s). Church Stile lies at the heart of the valley in the pretty village of Nether Wasdale making it the ideal base for your holiday.

Wasdale offers wonderful walks both on the high fells and valley bottom. Wasdale head is nearby leading to Scafell Pike (977 m) and Great Gable (899 m) while others such as Yewbarrow and Kirk Fell are also easily reached.

Lying just 1 mile from Church Stile, Wastwater Lake, England’s deepest lake allows kayaks, canoes and rowing boats. There are numerous places to picnic or swim. The view across the lake was voted ‘Britain’s Best View’ in 2009.

Unfortunately due to the weather and not feeling too well myself I was unable to take full advantage of the excellent facilities and location of the site but certainly plan to return.

The wash room / shower units were very clean and tidy. The site staff were very friendly and helpful providing us with cooked breakfasts and pack-ups for the day at a very reasonable price. The excellent local pub and pub-restaurant were located just outside of the site and we made good use of them. 10 out of 10 rating from me :)

We stayed in Sheppard's hut 'shearling' clean and spacious with good view of the surrounding areas. Firewood and BBQ provided which was good. Park very clean and well kept, staff lovely and helpful. WiFi only in reception area which was nice for us as it made us take time away from phones but not to everyone's liking so with a mention. No phone signal. Also, the shower water was not that hot, just luke warm, and no shower curtain in-between the shower and bench which would have been helpful

All of the staff were cheerful, friendly, and helpful with information about the local area and the campsite. The shop was well stocked with reasonably priced items, and the packed lunch on offer to order was good quality and value for money. The facilities are excellent. Multiple washing up stations with hot water for most of the day, and information about when it's off to save energy. Equally, the showers are comfortable and spotless. Our hut was thoughtfully provided with cutlery, plates and glasses, and bedding all presented neatly. Additionally, the wood burner and firepit had wood provided, and a picnic bench made eating outside convenient and enjoyable. While there is no signal, the site provides reliable WiFi at the shop. This was easy to connect to and extends to the covered patio outside the shop so can be used out of hours without worrying about being rained on. We would certainly recommend the site and consider staying again when visiting the area. Our only caution would be to avoid Hardknott and Wrynose passes if you're in a van or large car and don't fancy a 30% gradient on very narrow, winding roads. However, the views were worth the effort!

A beautiful setting amidst trees and bushes, with the backdrop of hills - relaxing and peaceful. Lovely wooded area to walk through and footpath leading to Wasdale water. Staff were friendly and helpful. Washing facility block was clean and well maintained. And all this was a short stroll to the local pub, with lots of atmosphere, good food and beer. The best site we've stayed in by a long way.

The little log burner was great and by staying a third night (Sunday) we almost had the site to ourselves. Very peaceful, scenic, clean, well kept and friendly park. Already thinking of returning towards the end of the year and staying in one of the Static Caravans.
