According to Wikipedia, Glamping is described as a style of camping with amenities not usually associated with “traditional” camping. Glamping has become particularly popular with 21st-century tourists seeking the escapism and adventure recreation of camping but who do not fancy giving up all their home comforts!

Here at River Valley Glamping in Wicklow, Ireland, we offer a great choice of Glamping accommodation options.

Our glamping Microlodges can accommodate two adults and two children. Contains one double bed and two small single beds. A kettle, microwave, small fridge, lights, electricity and a heater are supplied. Outside there is a picnic table and a steel table for disposable BBQ's.

All our Glamping accommodation units are fully insulated so they are very warm during the colder months of the season.

Our amenity block is approximately 20 steps away which provides showers, toilets, washbasins, laundry, and a campers kitchen etc.

Be sure to bring with you for your glamping trip in Ireland: your own bedding– pillows, sleeping bags/duvets, fitted sheets, (bring a king size fitted sheet for the double bed) duvet covers, pillow cases – whatever you use; Towels and tea towels; and Dishes, utensils, cookware, etc. Cutlery and crockery can be rented in the office for €10.00 plus a refundable deposit of €20.00 if needed.

Whilst staying in this glampsite in Ireland you can truly appreciate the Wicklow countryside and mountains as you are under an hour from Wicklow Mountains National Park as well as take in the beautiful Irish coast at Brittas Bay Beach, only a very short, 15 minute drive away..

River valley caravan park is situated in the Wicklow mountains so very pretty surrounding , in a quite little village with a lovely pub with brewery which services fabulous food. The camp site is so clean and beautiful kept . We stayed in a glamping lodge in October the lodge was warm and cosy , you can join in on activities organised at campsite or shut the world out . There are loads of walks and beaches close by . I always recommend this site to family and friends as it's as good as any I've visited in Europe .

our 4th summer visiting your camp site. Never enough time to do everything when booking 1 night really need to stay for 2 nights the next time. Great site lots to do, accomodation is great looking forward to the new lodges next summer. only feedback would be around... our 4th summer visiting your camp site. Never enough time to do everything when booking 1 night really need to stay for 2 nights the next time. Great site lots to do, accomodation is great looking forward to the new lodges next summer. only feedback would be around extending the activity times at peak weekends and summer months. there are large wait times because activities like archery and go karts are restricted in times should be all day. The Saturday Disco is should be changed walked into a sweaty smelling dark room don't see any real value if not done properly (someone showing dance routines or dance competitions).

Our family has used River Valley for years and we were a bit disappointed this time. We payed extra for a microlodge this time to save the effort of setting up tents, but wood was all rotting and breaking apart around the entrance of the actual lodge. I work in construction and was looking forward to a quietpeaceful break away with partner & children. But we were woken 2 mornings at around 7.30am by skillsaws and angle grinders from workmen working on the new houses opposite us, with absolutely no regard for any sleeping guests. Why River valley allows this is is beyond me, as i know myself from working in the industry its a no-no. Complained to staff about it when it first happened and was assured it wouldnt happen again.... until it did happen again, the very next morning. Wanted to complain when i was leaving but the person at reception seemed too young to give an earfull to. And wasnt hanging around any longer for an empty apology from anybody else on the way out the door. Even though i think we shouldve had at least a partial refund. I spoke with another friend who had a similar experience 3 weeks ago so it seems to be an ongoing thing that staff just falsely apologise for. Not sure any of us will be back

"Log cabins"

N Deasy - Stayed with family, Aug 2018

My only comment is that the log cabins are nearly the same price as the mobile homes, but are far inferior, with no kitchen or bathroom, no TV room, nowhere to cook or eat inside, and a hike to the toilet block for all bathroom trips, showers, washing dishes, cooking... My only comment is that the log cabins are nearly the same price as the mobile homes, but are far inferior, with no kitchen or bathroom, no TV room, nowhere to cook or eat inside, and a hike to the toilet block for all bathroom trips, showers, washing dishes, cooking food etc. With a two year old in tow as a single parent, I wouldn't stay in one again, but luckily my friend had a mobile home so we ended up semi moving in with her and her kids, and I took my showers there and we prepared food together, washed up using her sink, hung out in her TV room and fed the kids inside on her kitchen table when it was raining etc. I didn't think the kids camp was great - the arts and crafts were pretty poor and the kids all gave it a bad review. It wouldn't take much to do much nicer arts and crafts projects. The playground was a big highlight, and all the kids loved it.

A little disappointed that kids club not available, it was one of our reasons for traveling but other onsite activities excellent. We were novice campers and found that we were missing some basics. It may be helpful to have some items like disposable plates and utensils available in the onsite shop. Having said that it did not take away from our weekend and we had a great time will definitely be back.
