Located over 1000 feet above sea level at the junction of Eaton, Alsop and Biggin Dales, Rivendale Caravan Park, a glampsite in the Peak District National Park is ideal for mountain biking, rambling and walking from trails and cycle ways leading directly from our site. The Tissington Trail – just 100 metres from our site entrance provides access to the “Trails Triangle” formed with the High Peak Trail and cycle way around Carsington Reservoir.

Our Peak District Glamping pods are tent shaped, insulated timber huts with light, heaters and 16 amp power outlet and have proved to be comfortable during even the coldest weather! They are the ideal replacement for your tent, particularly in the winter:- The pods are already set up and ready to go when you arrive, completely weather proof so you're no longer having to deal with muddy ground sheets and wet fabrics. Pods are lockable and, being built from solid timber, are much more secure.

We have a small dog friendly country style pub, The Prancing Pony, with open fires offering a selection of wines, drafts, bottles and spirits along with soft drinks. Please note: There is no food in the bar, however we are in close proximity to a number of eateries.

The Stables Cafe is open 9am - 5pm, which offers an open fire and serves a selection of tea/coffee and cakes only, in a dog friendly atmosphere.

We stayed in a Pod, the Futon had seen better days, it was so small for two people that the pillows we brought with us could not go side by side. The electrical points were so low down we had to kneel and bend low down to see where to plug the light/heater in! For 6 pods and 6 tents on the Shires there were only 2 toilets and 1 shower which was out of order due to flooding! The 2 toilets were mixed sexes, I did not see either in the Pod, or the toilet area , emergency contact numbers for local doctor /hospital, there was no information about emergency meeting place in case of fires. There were plenty of warnings about not having fires in the meadow but nothing else. whole site was very Lax

"Great loaction, but pod accommodation not up to expectations"

Mr M Hurst - Stayed with family, Aug 2018

Great location. Pod accommodation warm and dry. Futon useless as it's too narrow for two people. Better to have space for air bed and camping chairs. Nice campsite, update of facilities would make it even better. One main toilet/shower block for whole site.

The Revendale location was beautiful and perfect for our family to meet as it was central for us to come together all living at different end of UK. What was very disappointing was that our toilet/shower in our area only had two toilets & one shower and campers were coming to use this facility from other areas of the site. The shower constantly over flowed and flooded the floor, bits of toilet paper were not cleaned up, mainly due to over use. The steep slope from our pod to the toilets was unsafe and a safety hazard. Your staff at times made mistakes & were rather unhelpful & rude. I am given to believe that the site is closing for camping & Luxury Lodges will be in place next year, maybe this is why the staff were so disgruntled. We shall look else where next time. Such a shame, the setting & location was perfect & our family made the best of our time together and had lots of fun.

"Catering facilitues"

The actual main camp facilities were good but there isn’t food available in the restaurant and the cafe is not stocked very well. On the norning we left coffees were not available due to staff shortages. One the Saturday a pop up pizzeria offered pizza from 6pm but when we came at 7pm they’d run out, people waited for an hour on their pizza. The place would be really good if they could sort the catering side out.

We turn up on a Friday night after driving 3 hrs to find no beds nothing available to hire! We were 3 family’s that booked these pods And not once did it make it clear that there was no beds or pay extra for them. We have stayed in pods before and beds/sofas have always been provided. The point of a “ready to go” pod is that you don’t have need to bring tent, beds etc. A very expensive experience and having to buy beds for my children to sleep on. Shame

The pod was okay would be tight for two and the door did not lock properly. It was located in the shire and was in a convenient spot for the toilet. The toilets were dirty as was the shower with a filthy mop and bucket left in the housekeepers. The toilets were signed off as ‘checked’ by the staff members but I would say we’re unsatisfactory. My dear friends hosted a lovely wedding at the location in the picturesque pub but in the evening the staff members stared taking the decorations down without consulting the party before our time in the room had ended. I was very much looking forward to the stay but found myself consistently let down but the lack of cafe etc. I understand someone new is now taking over. For better? I’m not sure myself...

The heater was a small electric one, bolted to a shelf, next to a drafty door. You had to almost sit on top of it to feel any kind of heat. The lighting was a small lamp which looked like it had been smashed to pieces and stuck back together and the curtain covering the door was held onto the wooden pole with rings and attached with paperclips. There was damp round the floor edges inside the pod and after the 1st night all our clothes and bedding were very damp. The pod clearly hadn't been cleaned before we checked in as there were long blonde hairs all over the floor, (I have dark brown hair) cobwebs up the side walls, and some other substance splashed up the wall and we discovered a lot of crumbs and scummage on the futon when we pulled it out to sleep on.

"Overall stay"

Mr Jones - Stayed with partner, Nov 2017

We stayed in a small pod with a futon. Nice pod which heater kept warm. However lighting was poor. The futon wasn’t very comfy at all but aslong as you bring lots of bedding it will do. The futon wasn’t very comfy at all but aslong as you bring lots of bedding it will do. Pub on site had very limited food so went elsewhere for food. Shower was a bit dirty with bucket and mop still next to it - shower was almost too hot to put face under too. Fireworks were good and staff were all friendly. Would definitely stay again if it was a bit cheaper - £50 a night for a tiny wooden pod is a bit steap.
