Located over 1000 feet above sea level at the junction of Eaton, Alsop and Biggin Dales, Rivendale Caravan Park, a glampsite in the Peak District National Park is ideal for mountain biking, rambling and walking from trails and cycle ways leading directly from our site. The Tissington Trail – just 100 metres from our site entrance provides access to the “Trails Triangle” formed with the High Peak Trail and cycle way around Carsington Reservoir.

Our Peak District Glamping pods are tent shaped, insulated timber huts with light, heaters and 16 amp power outlet and have proved to be comfortable during even the coldest weather! They are the ideal replacement for your tent, particularly in the winter:- The pods are already set up and ready to go when you arrive, completely weather proof so you're no longer having to deal with muddy ground sheets and wet fabrics. Pods are lockable and, being built from solid timber, are much more secure.

We have a small dog friendly country style pub, The Prancing Pony, with open fires offering a selection of wines, drafts, bottles and spirits along with soft drinks. Please note: There is no food in the bar, however we are in close proximity to a number of eateries.

The Stables Cafe is open 9am - 5pm, which offers an open fire and serves a selection of tea/coffee and cakes only, in a dog friendly atmosphere.

"Great place to stay with friends and family"

Miss Wray - Stayed with friends, Aug 2018

This was our fourth trip to Rivendale camp site - we stayed in the pods this year which were fabulous (especially when it was raining!). We were a group of 12 and both adults and children had a great time.

"Camping pod"

Y Kalcheva - Stayed with family, Aug 2018

Nice and specious camp site, friendly and helpful staff, however the toilets and the shower were not clean. We booked a camping pod and it was right next to the road which was a bit noisy.

"Good facilities, great staff"

Miss K McCrohon - Stayed with partner, Aug 2018

Staff were very helpful. Pod was a little warm and it would be goodbif food was served in the pub, other than that and perhaps updating the toilets/shower facilities, it is a great site.

"Lovely site, lovely location"

Ms Davies - Stayed with family, Jun 2017

We had a lovely introduction to family camping in one of the small pods. Lovely and clean, sweet deck to sit on, lights and a heater so warm and convenient. The toilet block was nice and clean, the food in the café was lovely, and close to the Tissington Trail/Ashbourne for days out and walking. Highly recommended.

Perfect for visiting the surrounding areas in the Peak District. Staff were helpful and polite. The food we had was actually really nice and came out in good time. One thing that really does concern me is the CCTV in the shower blocks. Why? I could understand it if it captured people entering and leaving but this directly faces the showers. No need for it. There are children that use them facilities and they're being recorded all the while. Also, keypad entry for the toilets? It's just bizarre. Overall a real shame as the location, staff and food are let down by some questionable placement of CCTV and the need to remember a number every time you need the loo. We certainly won't be returning.

I booked Rivendale campsite as a short break for my partners birthday last week. I chose the site as it was central in the peak district for us to go walking with our dog, and also because there was a pub on site which was important to us as we don't have any camping equipment such as stoves etc and didn't want to leave our dog in the camping pod whilst we went off site with the nearest village being 7 miles away. I was very disappointed to find out upon arrival that the pub doesn't open on Tuesdays or Thursdays despite the website clearly stating it is open every day! We ended up having to take our dog and drive to the nearest village and get a takeaway pizza to bring back which was disappointing. Apart from this, I think the campsite is nice and well laid out with good wash facilities, however the website needs updating as our trip was definitely impacted due to the pub being closed.

"Stayed in camping pod for two nights"

Unfortunately the pods were not as nice as they looked on the website. There were dog hairs, and generally a bit grubby. The pod I was in had too many poster on the walls and outside - making it look ugly, and the posters had rain damage, which made it even uglier. The lamp was pointless too (too dull). It has real potential which is a shame - personally I would remove all of the horrible posters and replace with one polite, discrete poster. I would replace the crappy lamp with fairy lights to create a really cute pod. Also on another note...we had really noisy campers right behind the pod on the first night (far too close to us) and when they left the next day, they left rubbish, food and glass on the grass behind our pod - not nice and it still had not been clearer away when we left the following day.
