Experience camping in a glamping pod at Sumners Ponds Fishery & Campsite. The concept is to bring all your own equipment less the tent – so you need to bring your own bedding including mattress or camp bed, cooking equipment and anything else you think you might need for a camping trip. Best of all you will be cosy and warm with no wet tent to pack away at the end of your stay.

The glamping pod consists of lockable double doors, carpeted flooring, electric heater and lighting with the use of a double plug socket. There is also a small decking area on each of the pods for use as a seating and cooking area. At each pod there is a picnic table exclusively for your use.

Use of the showers blocks and electricity is included. Fishing is separate and tickets can be purchased when you arrive. The Premium Lakeside Glamping Pods are located on the Sumners Lake and can sleep up to two adults and two small children.

Glamping at Sumners Ponds Fishery and Campsite in West Sussex is a unique and beautiful spot set in tranquil countryside amongst 100 acres of lakes, woodland and pasture.

The campsite itself boasts high quality campsite facilities, acres of woodland, a working farm and fishing lakes. All this in a beautiful and secluded setting which is perfect for just relaxing, or for the more active, exploring the many footpaths and safe cycle-ways within and around the site.

Sumners Ponds is an ideal touring base, with many beautiful towns and villages near by. Access to the South Downs National Park and the coast is easy, while Brighton is only half an hour by car and London only one hour away. There really is something for everyone.

The Cafe by the Lake is our restaurant and bar which is open to both those staying on site and the general public. We aim to provide the highest standard of food and service.

When you arrive the Smith family and the team will be here to ensure that your glamping break in West Sussex is as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you.

We were given the privacy we required, the staff were really helpful. The pod was warm and clean and we felt safe with plenty of security lighting. The toilet/shower block was close by, they were clean and warm, with secure entry. There were walks around the site. The site had clear sign posts so you don’t get lost. The cafe/bar was warm roomy, and the food was really good. We are looking to stay again, looking to encourage family to join us, as it is child and dog friendly.

Everyone was friendly and helpful and the shower/ toilets were excellent and extremely clean. I will be returning and recommending you on my facebook. The only improvement would be when I booked online, I paid full price and noticed afterwards you had a special price discount. It would have been nice to have seen this come up as you paid.

We enjoyed a week at Sumners in August even though the weather wasn’t as good as recent weeks. The fishing was quite good although we felt sorry for a lovely family who were enjoying fishing with their young children. They had put the fish in a bucket and were asked to leave as it was against the rules. The bailiff could have been kinder and just explained the rules to them as they were not English. We also had to wait over an hour for our breakfast in the cafe and there was no apology for the lengthy wait. They then stopped serving due to running out of food so I would question the effectiveness of the management. It’s not really acceptable in the middle of the summer holidays when they should expect to be busy. The prices are high for the quality of the food. THe very young staff do their best and are mostly friendly and efficient. We ate dinner one night and had take away another. Scampi and chips was a generous portion but you’d expect it at over 12 pounds. The shower facilities are very spacious and clean, although no hot water in the first shower. Lakeside pitches are nice but expensive and don’t include fishing which they should. Having own water tap on Ribbon park was good and this should be extended to the premium lakeside pitches. Not our first stay at Sumners and it won’t be our last but I’d like to see a few improvements. Premium pitches up on Betty’s lake would be great as it’s really quiet up there. Fountain on Sumners runs all night and very noisy if your windows are open.

Mrs K Freeman-Haines - Stayed with family, Jul 2018

Thank you for a perfect stay once again, we will return as usual. The cafe has always been lovely but this year in the evening was so efficiently run even with it being so busy, well done to the new team.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a lakeside Pod for our anniversary and we thought it was brilliant. My husband was very pleased as he got to fish right from the door of the pod, and had other options available as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were brilliant, and so clean, and I have to say one of the nicest toilet / shower blocks I've ever been in. Having the café on site is great, but its only a 5 minute walk to the local pub and shop if you run out of items. Would highly recommend Sumners to anyone as somewhere to camp. Will definitely be coming back and am already planning a stay in one of the cabins.
