Pennine View a family-run caravan and camp site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from the centre of the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen. It sits at the midway point of the Coast to Coast route and are only a short drive from both the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines, meaning that there are lots of walks and cycle routes nearby catering for all tastes.

These beautiful wooden pods can sleep up to 5 people and come with mattresses which convert from comfy benches to a big bed. The pods also come fully equipped with heating, light, a fridge and a kettle. In addition to the stunning mountain views, outside each pod, guests can make use of a BBQ and picnic bench

Guests will need to bring their own bedding, cooking equipment and utensils, towels and charcoal for the BBQ.

Well behaved dogs are allowed in our pods, however you must bring your own bedding for them.

Our spacious washrooms are well appointed and open 24 hours. They boast individual wash cubicles with mirrors, free hot showers, hair dryers and a deep sink in the ladies for baby bathing. A large disabled room is available in both the ladies and gents, which can be used as a family cubicle.

A children’s play area is provided with a swing and climbing frame with slide. Children must be supervised whilst playing on site.

We have a small shop in reception selling essentials to stock you up when you run out. (Plus chocolate because that’s an essential in our eyes!)

We offer free WiFi to our guests on site across all accommodations

Nice location but pod not clean

Arnold, Sharon - 09/04/2024

Fab location with lots of local walks and the The Engine Shed was a great place to get food and drink, the park is small enough that you can confidently let the children have a bit of freedom whilst still being able to keep a close eye on them, and there is a small pay area which they enjoyed. Toilets and showers were clean and plentiful. The only thing that let the stay down was that the pod was not clean, the floor was absolutely filthy, the fridge had crumbs in it, there was mud marks on the seating / mattresses and overall it felt shabby and old. At £60.00 per night it was expensive for what it was, and whilst I might return to the site in a touring van, I would not stay in the pods again.

The site is really nice and clean, the pub on the site is also good we had our tea there. The only thing I would say is when we arrived about 5.30 it had been raining all day the pod was really cold, it would have been nice if the heater was turn on. I would definitely return.

Friendly staff, who replied to email query quickly. Everything went smoothly for us, simple check-in/checkout process, facilities good and comprehensive, nice family atmosphere on campsite. Only suggestion for improvement would be it would be good if more than one type of hot food meal was available from the bar, particularly on the Sunday night when most pubs and restaurants seem to be closed in Kirkby Stephen (apart from Black Bull at Nateby). Thank you for a pleasant stay :)
