Our three ‘goods wagons’ offer the best glamping experience at luxury level and are only a stones throw away from the beach. Whether it’s a romantic break or a much needed place to escape from the daily grind the wagons are the perfect place to chill out. Each wagon has an en-suite shower, a kitchen area, double bed, heating and decking. All fully equipped, all you need is your sleeping bag or duvet.

West Beach Caravan Park is on the site of the former train station and wagons at this time were used to transport the fish out of Hopeman. We've kept this theme and named the wagons Flukey, Guntac and Rock Coddie - the local names for some of the Moray Firth catch. All the wagons are the same, they just have different paint colours.

The sea wasn’t visible from the deck but a two minute walk over the sand dunes or along the road took you to the beach. The accommodation was spotless and, although snug, it was perfect for one. The Bootleggers Bothy was a great place to eat in the evening and there was also the local chippy. Staff were really friendly and happy to advise on places to walk. There are some lovely coastal walks in both directions but no direct bus back from Lossiemouth. Beautiful scenery, stunning beaches and very friendly folk - I’ll be back!

"Not good enough"

I stayed in a hut with my granddaughter. It was clean but had several faults. The key was in the door when we arrived but we could not get it out of the lock and could not find anyone to help for two days. When I did he said it only needed WD40 but even though he got the key out we still could not lock the door. I was told the shower would only stay hot for 15 mins but I was lucky if it stayed hot for 4 mins. The hob was useless as it did not keep its heat for any length of time. The sleeping arrangement was awful, table smaller than benches so cushions flopped at sides making it very uncomfortable. It was very difficult to find anyone at reception to voice my concerns. This is a lovely park but the holiday was spoiled a bit by the standard of the hut

Direct access opposite the wagon onto the beach which was lovely to sit on in the evening with some refreshments watching the sunset and dolphin spotting! Hopeman is a lovely wee village with harbour and beautiful sandy beach, the Moray coastal trail also runs through the caravan site. West Beach is perfect for a short stay. 5*

This was our first time staying in one of the caravan sites wagons. We stayed in Flukey-homely and quaint. It was just perfect! Ideal for couples who are looking to explore the local area, and chill out. The beach and harbour are lovely! And plenty places to walk to and visit. The staff were very accommodating, and COVID rules very clear. They had their own towels etc, and you were advised to bring own duvet and pillows, as everything else is provided. But we brought our own towels, bin bags, cloths etc anyway. We visited The Bothy (Dory) for coffee and had food too. It was amazing!!!! The fire grill is open at weekends but we were staying during the week and missed out. But we will be back!! Thanks again xxx
