Our three ‘goods wagons’ offer the best glamping experience at luxury level and are only a stones throw away from the beach. Whether it’s a romantic break or a much needed place to escape from the daily grind the wagons are the perfect place to chill out. Each wagon has an en-suite shower, a kitchen area, double bed, heating and decking. All fully equipped, all you need is your sleeping bag or duvet.

West Beach Caravan Park is on the site of the former train station and wagons at this time were used to transport the fish out of Hopeman. We've kept this theme and named the wagons Flukey, Guntac and Rock Coddie - the local names for some of the Moray Firth catch. All the wagons are the same, they just have different paint colours.

The wagon itself had everything we needed for a long weekend (bed, kitchen area, bathroom etc.), and definitely a luxurious step up from camping in a tent (even though I love camping). The location is stunning with so much to see and do along the coast. You can tell the owners of the park really care so much about the site as it's well looked after and looks beautiful. I'm really looking forward to coming back here to stay, and already planning a trip for next season.

The wagon was great and we were located less than a minutes walk from the sea. One thing I found sleeping in the wagon was that the bed was not very comfortable and very hard. I would therefore recommend taking a mattress topper or blow up bed to put over the bed To make it more comfortable. Apart from this issue everything else at the park was perfect.

"Nice vibe"

Mrs J Connelly - Stayed with family, Jul 2021

We stayed in wagon which was great but definitely not for more than the slimmest of people. Shower cubicle so tiny you had to open the door to pick up shampoo etc - maybe a shelf would be helpful!

The sea wasn’t visible from the deck but a two minute walk over the sand dunes or along the road took you to the beach. The accommodation was spotless and, although snug, it was perfect for one. The Bootleggers Bothy was a great place to eat in the evening and there was also the local chippy. Staff were really friendly and happy to advise on places to walk. There are some lovely coastal walks in both directions but no direct bus back from Lossiemouth. Beautiful scenery, stunning beaches and very friendly folk - I’ll be back!

"Not good enough"

I stayed in a hut with my granddaughter. It was clean but had several faults. The key was in the door when we arrived but we could not get it out of the lock and could not find anyone to help for two days. When I did he said it only needed WD40 but even though he got the key out we still could not lock the door. I was told the shower would only stay hot for 15 mins but I was lucky if it stayed hot for 4 mins. The hob was useless as it did not keep its heat for any length of time. The sleeping arrangement was awful, table smaller than benches so cushions flopped at sides making it very uncomfortable. It was very difficult to find anyone at reception to voice my concerns. This is a lovely park but the holiday was spoiled a bit by the standard of the hut
