Smytham Holiday Park in North Devon is set in 23 acres of parkland adjoining the old Manor House, which is still used as a family home. We’ve got a selection of self-catering holiday accommodation, from traditional camping and caravanning pitches to timber lodges, camping pods, and holiday homes.

Camping in luxury, our Log Glamping Pods let you enjoy the fun and adventure of camping with all its benefits, but without the stress of putting up a tent, flapping wet canvas or having to dry a went tent at home. These glamping pods in South West England are the ideal accommodation for a short break, whatever season you’re heading to North Devon.

Made in the UK with wood from sustainable sources, these environmentally friendly camping pods provide dry, snug, secure and spacious shelter. Each has a double-glazed window and door and insulated walls and floor, designed to keep you warm in the winter yet cool in summer.

The glamping pod provides dry, snug, secure and spacious shelter. All you need to bring with you is your normal camping gear but not the tent. Pods are equipped with electric lighting, sockets & a heater, Barbeque outside and 4’ deep covered deck area. This large pod sleeps up to 4 adults for convenient family glamping in Devon.

For the cyclists among us this is the ideal location for glamping along The Tarka Trail, one of the country's longest continuous traffic-free walking and cycling paths, taking you through some of our county’s most beautiful countryside.

Whilst here why not visit some of our local attractions such as Dartington Crystal in Great Torrington Town. There is also plenty to keep the kids entertained; you have access to vast outdoor space for running about and playing games. There is an indoor games room with a pool table, air hockey, table tennis and football tables. Why not take a dip in the outdoor solar-heated pool and then dry off on the sun terrace before lighting the barbeque outside your glamping pod and watching the sun set under your covered deck area.

Fantastic location for cycling the Tarka Trail or Devon's Coast to Coast. A beautiful peaceful weekend in September. All we needed was right there. Good tip - take your slow cooker and have your meal waiting for you when you return. Would benefit from a couple of hooks on the outside of the pod for drying off wet gear. A couple of hooks inside too. Liked the personal touch of the solar fairy lights lovely and ambient.

Really enjoyed the pod, great that we had no tent to erect, pod was nice & warm - only downside is could do with a cupboard either inside or out to store some items as constantly living out of bags. It was quite dark walking from the toilets to the shower block so a little light near the end pod would be good & also some lights from the children's play room down towards the reception / bar. Would also be useful if the website stated exactly what is included in the pod as brought our own camping table, chairs & charcoal BBQ so could've saved some much needed space in the car had we known we had our our picnic bench & a concrete BBQ with a free disposable BBQ.

As the weather was gorgeous during our stay my three children and I hardly left the park for 5 days as the pool was warm and a great facility for a family holiday. The grounds and play area were also great and the bar was a nice place to relax during the evenings. We stayed in a pod which is great for saving on transporting tents and means you are ready to start your holiday straight away on arrival. The staff were very helpful and there was a small shop stocking essentials and sweets and ice creams for the kids. This was our second stay here but the weather made it an especially good holiday. Thanks for having us.

"Beutiful setting"

Mrs E Hamlin - Stayed Apr 2018

The setting of the campsite is beautiful and it is well laid out with a walking trail and dog exercising area away from the children/family area. I only stayed for one night as I was attending an event locally but they site was peaceful and my 'pod' was just perfect. ... I only stayed for one night as I was attending an event locally but they site was peaceful and my 'pod' was just perfect. The site appears to be having work on it to upgrade it and the upgrade all look well undertaken. I would definitely come back here with my family.

I booked a pod here in April as the nights were too cold for camping and I wanted to cycle along the Tarka Trail. The site has its own access to the trail although I had to push my bike to get to it. The pod was warm and cosy with a wall mounted electric heater. Showers had plenty of hot water and the facilities were always clean although the site was not busy when I stayed The woodland walk was lovely with a stream and lots of birdsong. The site was easy to find and the access was good.My only complaint is that it was very close to the toilet block and chemical toilet disposal.I think when the site is busy this would be a big disadvantage with lots of people coming and going.I did not mind not having a phone signal and I did not pay for the WiFi. All in all I had a lovely weekend
