Our glamping accommodation in Wales’ Snowdonia National Park is in an amazing location near Barmouth and Dolgellau. Glamping guests are blown away by the tranquility and scenery of the Mawddach estuary and Snowdonia mountains as well as the many activities and attractions nearby.

Perfect for a romantic retreat or family adventure – our pop-yurts sleep 2 to 4 and move around the site depending on the season and are cosy whatever the weather. We welcome well behaved dogs too.

Choose from different yurt glamping at Snowdonia experiences at Graig Wen depending on the time of year:

Wild Glamping

From May to September, Idris pop-up yurt is hidden away in the woods and meadows of our wilder, tent camping fields. Secluded and away from it all, you will have an eco-loo nearby but it’s a long walk back uphill to other facilities. Parking is a few minutes walk in the campers’ car park but when you check in / out we can give you a lift in our off road vehicle.

Winter Glamping

During the colder months, Idris is sited on the upper part of the camp site complete with electricity and washing facilities practically en suite. You will have a woodburning stove as well as electricity for extra heat, lighting, and to make your morning cuppa. The small, sheltered site has big estuary views and your neighbours will be the odd out of season camper van or caravan. Open March – April and October – December. Closed January and February.

Idris comes kitted out with a proper double bed with a quality extra thick mattress and two single sofa beds. A wood burning stove made by artisan stove maker Windy Smithy keeps the yurt cosy. The yurt is on a beautiful wooden base made by local craftsman Dan from Adventures in Wood. There is bespoke furniture, floor rugs, and warm Welsh tapestry blankets and sheep skins on the beds.

A simple covered camp kitchen right outside the yurt provides a 2 ring camping gas stove and all the cooking equipment, plates, cutlery etc you will need. There’s a picnic table, fairy lights and we give you a lantern to use. There is also a fire pit and grill for BBQs. Just bring your own double bedding or sleeping bags, towels and food and enjoy a very special corner of Snowdonia National Park whilst glamping in Wales.
